Default C&D Comparo: BMW M6, Jaguar XKR-S,Benz SL63, Porsche 911 Carrera S

http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...omparison-test

Cliffs
They really beat the crap out of the M6, wow. Loved the SL didn't love the styling. Jag feels old. Porsche is a Porsche

SPOILERS BELOW

4th Place: BMW M6
Highs:
As comfortable as the road trip is long, fast when it needs to be, usable back seat.

Lows:
Two-plus tons of not-so-fun, sounds more like warp drive than internal combustion, the controls are cold.

Verdict:
The world’s quickest Thunderbird.

3rd Place: Jaguar XKR-S
Highs:
The MGM lion under the hood, shockingly fast, challenges your driving skills, a beautiful interior.

Lows:
Antiquated electronics, stiff chairs, a dorky wing, feels a little old.

Verdict:
A real animal that just needs some updating.

2nd Place: Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG
Highs:
Goes hard and handles beautifully, lots of conveniences, quietest at speed with its top up.

Lows:
Styled by people with odd tastes, price is closing in on a Bentley.

Verdict:
An exquisite fusion of luxury and sport.

1st Place: Porsche 911 Carrera S
Highs:
None is more fun, latest 911 has more frills, puts you in touch with your senses.

Lows:
Narrower seats, noisier cabin, less horsepower for the money.

Verdict:
Loses its roof but not its poise.

That is exactly how I would've ranked them. I've personally warmed up to the SL's looks, but understand why some are not fans.

Still don't like the current SL styling. I panned it when it came out, and still dislike it today.

Styling aside, you can't deny the powertrains

M6 is the new Buick.........so funny.

SL have the best specs, doesn't look hot though.

Flat 6 sounds like crap.

Jag is old school muscle car.

And maybe even then, the M variant is still betrayed by the excess weight of the donor platform (F10).

All of those coupes are super nice. If I had to choose I would probaly take the SL then the Jag. I need more luxury than sport. Look at the Torque on that AMG!!

The new SL is so ugly. I'd take the M6 over it any day.
