This is for a car that sells for almost the same price brand new.

As I said resale value speaks for itself. Test drive a 3 years old used Huyndai/Kia from any dealer, and compare that ride, rattles, material wear and tear to an equivalent Toyota/Honda and you'll feel the difference.

Your own car may be different, but that is not the general consensus in the real world.
I've owned GM, Nissan, Toyota/Lexus in the past. Neither seemed to have had appreciably more rattles than the other. After 10 years, both the Toyota and the Pontiac were money pits.

Did you conduct an official survey?

Another inaccurate stereotype. We heard those same stale inaccurate labels with the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator....Ghetto "Bling" mobiles. While they both, indeed, have a lot of flash, they turned out to be popular in many places, not just in the inner-cities.

When new, the 2009 Elantra ($14,120 - $17,820 USD) sold for less money than the 2009 Corolla ($15,350 - $20,050 USD). I have no idea what the price was in Canada. My wife owned a 2006 Elantra. It never had a single mechanical fault. It neither rattled nor squeaked after six years.
