Nice looking wagon. I hope that it does well for Volvo they have a reputation for wagons. Unfortunately wagons just don't sell in NA. I really like the wagons from VW, Audi, BMW etc. but wouldn't buy one because of the hit on resale.

Audi is responding to market demand. Not all SUVs are hulking behemoths of two decades ago (like early ones). They're pretty hard to define these days... A 5 or more seat vehicle with high clearance and a hatchback? A higher seating station wagon?
And since 'SUV'type vehicles are typically slower than sedans, maybe an argument can be made that they're safer as maybe people tend to drive slower or more cautiously in them.

No one's skirting around anything. SUVs, Utes, Trucks are not going away plain and simple. Fact of the matter is lots of people like them and you don't - big deal, you're entitled to your opinion and no one is forcing you to buy a SUV. Here in the States we're blessed to have big enough roadways (albeit too much traffic) to own such vehicles. I'd like to see your SC tow a boat
