I'm sure the move to Mexico will be smooth, and cars built there will have the same excellent quality and reliability VW-AG products are known for.

for non SUV people, here is a nice option:

Nice looking wagon. I hope that it does well for Volvo they have a reputation for wagons. Unfortunately wagons just don't sell in NA. I really like the wagons from VW, Audi, BMW etc. but wouldn't buy one because of the hit on resale.

Audi is responding to market demand. Not all SUVs are hulking behemoths of two decades ago (like early ones). They're pretty hard to define these days... A 5 or more seat vehicle with high clearance and a hatchback? A higher seating station wagon?

And since 'SUV'type vehicles are typically slower than sedans, maybe an argument can be made that they're safer as maybe people tend to drive slower or more cautiously in them.

Here in the States we're blessed to have big enough roadways (albeit too much traffic) to own such vehicles. I'd like to see your SC tow a boat
That sums up this whole discussion nicely.

Guy I talk to down in Mexico...Audi Q3 with our wheels. Audi SUVs are just super popular worldwide right now. The new Q7 should be out of this world the way they are going.
