Good for Elon. I have liked much of what this guy has said over the years. He has an innovative mind and thinks out of the box. And as far as I've seen, he's also not phased by they nay-sayers and doesn't give into the Hollywood crap. Expect more great things from him.

There are plenty of other things that CR should take an look at such as cost of battery replacement after they fail (and they will, as thats per design, unlike in hybrids which use much lesser portion of battery to save it).

I would expect CR to go beyond waving patriotic flag and investigate these things, and not review cars like Car and Drive - we have plenty of mags to do that.

Once again as a side note, if I was in US, I would be driving Tesla right now.

Don't forget that, as we know from the NYT controversy, Tesla likely also had support teams dedicated to CR's test offering on-the-go customer support that no production buyer will ever have. IMO this is definitely a case of letting at least a generation of production cars go through "public testing" before getting feet wet.

Certainly, we don't expect much integrity in automotive journalism.

Eh really? IMO if there's anything holding Tesla back, it's his loud mouth.
