Oh hell yeah - totally agree. But they sell a bunch at both ends of the spectrum. They just blend into the background but if you pay attention how many plain white pickups with black bumpers and gray steel wheels are out there, you realize why they are such a cash cow for the MFRs.

Ya cylinder deactivation is a really cool feature, but i think you misread my question. I was asking about if there are any plans to introduce strictly 4 cylinders as base engines for future trucks.
Seeing as most of them aren't bought for yard/ranch work, sales should have a pretty big blip. MPG will be a good bonus for those that want it.

Yup, i didnt think it'd be likely. Was just wondering if anyone has heard anything over the grapevine about 4 cyls and half tons.
It will be interesting to see how many drops of gas they can squeeze out of their current V6's in the future though.

It's a conservative design strategy that has worked for Chevy. No need to change anything if it works for them. Even though this grill is large, it's still looks more conservative than the Fords or Tundras, which I prefer. Either way, most people who buy this truck for work or fleet are already sold by the name/badge or the efficiency numbers.
