Acura ILX

For some reason Acura feels sporty buyers don't want the best technology.
TL SH-AWD with 6MT can't be combined with the Advance Package, which includes blind spot monitor, cooled seats, etc.
Although I guess you could argue that Lexus also bundles things similarly, the GS F-Sport can't be had with the rear ventilation controls, etc.

surprising, yes, it should be available, but maybe they feel the additional cost / price point just isn't worth it, won't be appealing because many younger buyers will just use their phones anyway.

Honestly what a waste. If I wanted a civic I would just buy one. Acura is still a little lost. There theory of my way or the highway will never work. On another note I love the new MDX & NSX.

now that's a good question! can only assume if they want the acura brand specifically. also, the ilx is probably a good bit smaller, but maybe not that much as the new accord is actually quite compact.

My wife bought one so I see that fat rear end from my front window everyday (she backs in). The 2013 Accord is still a larger vehicle than the Camry.
If the ILX was larger or the Accord smaller, if the two were closer in size like they were 10 or 15 years ago, I could understand skipping the ILX and going to the Accord for a similar (or even lower) cost. But now I can see people intentionally going for a smaller, more nimble, agile vehicle.

I did a full-length review of an ILX last summer. It is NOT just a dressed-up Civic, though I'll admit that there are some shortcomings, such as ride-quality and road-noise. But, though the exterior size is more or less comparable, inside, it is definitely more of an Acura than a Civic. The main problem, though, is that, with the only (slightly) larger and (slightly) more expensive TSX, Acura has essentially two small-to-medium-size sedans that more or less compete against each other. Perhaps the TSX's only real selling, point, now, is the SportWagon model that the ILX series lacks.
