the hybrid version reminds me of lexus hs. it isn't very impressive
all the complaints about pricing though, i think there's a lot of delusion here about what new cars cost and how the u.s. dollar's value has shrunk. many complainers typically own 10 year old cars and expect that prices haven't changed.

I'm taking about price increases across the whole line up. Measly 5-6 years ago you could get a TSX for 26k or TL for 32k.
This thing starts at 26k and ends at 34.4... This is where fully loaded 2004-2008 TL used to end - and its a much superior car. Hell, a friend of mine bought a brand spanking new 2004 RL for 35k after a massive discount.

The HS has a real hybrid system that can drive the vehicle on electric power alone, gas alone or both. The ILX uses the old crappy IMA "assist" system.
The ILX has 111hp. Yes 111hp in a luxury car. That is literally less hp than the 114 Integra from 1986. n Then the ILX barely gets better MPG than the HS which has 187hp.
The HS starts at 37k, the ILX ends at 34k.
Apples to Oranges.
Acura stated the ILX is aimed basically at people that hate cars, don't know **** about cars but want a luxury badge b/c they think an Acura means something. This is maybe the worst luxury branded car debut since the Saabaru rebadge years ago. It is as Clarkson would say "biblically terrible".
Och's point is correct Acura has lost their rabbit *** mind with pricing. I don't care about inflation
2001-You got a LOADED 225hp TL for 27k. NAV TL made it 29k
2004-You got a LOADED 200hp TSX for 27k, NAV TSX made it 29k
2012-You get a base model, cloth, no HID, 150hp POS for 26k. Loaded its 30k
You can't get the 6 speed model with NAV? But you can get the same Civic with the same engine, same manul with Nav. What the hell?
A 111hp car is 34k loaded? Are they are crack?
So Acura no longer offers value, yet most of their cars are made in America to hedge against the yen? So why the hell is the content going down in American made cars, sold in America yet the price is going up? Wasn't the entire point of building the cars here to offer value and save on costs? At this rate just build the cars in Japan and have less margins.
This car is a complete joke and its hard to believe in 2012 this is what Acura thinks is a great product.

and for all your fuming about just 111hp on the gasoline engine in the ils hybrid, the CTh only gets 134hp combined gasoline and electric, so it's hardly much better if at all.

to get heated seats on the CTh you have to buy the $2600 premium option.
