Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has just one teensy-weensy request for its United States arm: Double your sales by 2017.
...
Automotive News reports that the plan to increase sales includes increasing the number of dealerships in the US, doubling per-store sales and boosting its marketing efforts in key demographic groups.

If they are going to increase sales I think a good place to start would be fuel economy . Their VQ35 motor is still in everything and it get horrible fuel economy. I cant imagine the 3.7 liter unit in better. I dont care what the window sticker at the dealership says, I have had 2 G35s and a Murano and they get 18mpg mixed hwy and city and 22 on the highway. They are V6s that get V8 fuel economy

Have you actually seen, examined, and driven a base-level, $10,990 Versa? Though it does have a little more back-seat room than other bottom-level cars like Rio/Accent/Yaris, its cheapness definitely shows in the tin-grade materials, inside and out. I don't think you'd want to take a base Versa home as a daily-driver.
