That's what happens when you carry colors and textures from the dash to the doors. It's hard to align the panels and Mercedes has never excelled in fit and finish. It doesn't really bother me but it shouldn't be allowed on the s class. I wouldn't want the dealer playing around with the panels either

The fit and finish threads are really interesting- a lot of people were posting pics of how a panel could look misaligned from one angle then perfectly aligned from another.
Tires and brake squeals I can see, it happens on Lexus often too (one or two issues). But rest of these are way, way, way above I would expect as such car as S class.

As to the misaligned pics, people posted different ones and you could see from same perspective that different cars had different alignment. There are also press pics from same perspective which show perfect alignment, so definitely they have cars which have interior panels differently aligned, which to me makes no sense at all.

There are some Toyota's that have interior parts not aligned exactly with each other, but it is the same way in every car, there is no variation of alignment. Variation suggests, poor fitment? How can you fit interior wrong? Strange. No wonder they authorized dealers to give S class customers perks of up to $2.5k as a goodwill.

The press photos clearly looked photoshopped to correct for alignment. There is practically no gap in there.

Yeah the press photos were clearly way above and beyond what they were prepared to do. But that picture was the exact one I was talking about.

Looks misaligned:

Not so much here (same car):

And the thread is only 19 posts long (by repeat posters) so I'm not sure how much of an issue this is. Will be keeping an eye on it for sure.

kind of expected on this car, no surprise with all the little issues (just being mb)

the alignment issues though, lol, i am not sure if i call that a problem. if anything, i see that problem in most cars too including lexus. more other things to worry about imho

Yeah I don't think that panel alignment looks unusual.

Default Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe Video, First Look

What if we told you there was a car that combines the torque of a NASCAR racer with the luxury of a private yacht? Well It doesn’t exist. That’s because this car, the Mercedes S63 AMG coupe actually makes more twist than an oval track racer.

And it can also turn right.

It’s also really good at going straight, with its twin turbo 5.5L V8 making a crazy 577 hp and a life changing 644 lb-ft of torque enabling a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 186 MPH.

Now all that power might normally make a car undrivable, even with the latest in traction and stability control, but this Benz is part of a new era of high powered AMGs that have AWD.

This particular system delivers 33 percent of its power to the front wheels and 67 to the rear. It also features the Benz’ magic body control air suspension that leans the car into a corner.

Further improving performance it is 140 lbs lighter than the CL Class model it replaces. Plus, you can also opt for carbon ceramic brakes.

Based off the new S-class nowhere is that more obvious than inside with unique switchgear, seats look like like they were lifted from a private jet and the use of carbon fiber that might border on excessive if such a thing were possible.

Outside you get all the AMG kit you’d expect with big lightweight wheels and more aggressive bodywork.

No pricing has been released but look to spend a solid 150k or more to show off your membership to the 1 percent club.

Default Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman spied for the first time, will be 6.4 meters long

Armored version

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman has been spied for the first time and it seems it was an armored variant.

The vehicle was spotted by a BILD reader in front of Brabus' factory in Bottrop, Germany and apparently it was the V12-powered S600 version. It will allegedly be 6.4 meters (252 inches) long and the armored version seen here will tip the scales at 5,300 kg (11,684 lbs). It will be able to withstand continuous fire, hand grenades and explosions thanks to its armored steel body panels as well as the other changes normally found in such a niche vehicle.

The armored Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman will probably have a 2+2+2 seating layout and will reportedly carry a starting price of 920,000 EUR (about 1.27M USD / 757,300 GBP). It should come out sometime in 2015 taking into account the extra-long wheelbase Maybach is expected in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show with a wheelbase stretched by 20cm compared to the current long-wheelbase S-Class.

Default Wald International updates kit for 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Click here to view more photos

Gains rear diffuser and quad exhaust

Following last November's preview, Wald International has released another image with its exterior makeover for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Wald's body kits are not for everyone and the same thing can be said about their S-Class package which brings a less refined appearance to the W222 generation of the flagship Mercedes-Benz sedan. They went for a sportier approach which doesn't suit the model very well with that muscular front bumper incorporating larger vents.

The 2014 S-Class has also received side vents and flared wheel arches while the side skirts have a chunkier size. In addition, there's a whole new rear bumper with a busy diffuser and a quad exhaust arrangement. Wald has also brought the car closer to the road by lowering its suspension, along with installing bigger alloy wheels and applying a trunk lip spoiler.
