yep, I say 260-275hp would be great, get rid of the Prius sized wheels and tires...keep the price under $29K.

just drop the current WRX motor in there.....2.5-liter DOHC Intercooled, turbocharged aluminum-alloy 16-valve 4-cylinder horizontally opposed SUBARU BOXER® engine with Active Valve Control System (AVCS) 265 hp @ 6000 rpm, 244 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm.

This s what crawford did. The car made 450 hp and 480 torqe, but the engine alone is 10,000. What about new fabrics and turbo system ? Probably another 10-15k

Top of the new car price 28k.

The car is now sitting at 40-50k price tag.

I would not buy a car and have after market mod it like this. I would rather pay 40-50k from manufacturer for it.

$10K is the cost of buying one outright, not what it would cost Toyota or Subby to substitute.

Exactly. I wish if I had the ability to Custom order it that way.....But it is Impossible. Toyota and Subaru has many many ways to make this car better. They just never will, because it still sell

I think in a couple of years when sales slow down they will turbo and/or re-engine.

If the new Supra come out with 500hp stock for $70k to compete with GTR $90k; I rather have fun to spend money and buy one of the modifed 86 turbo in the next few years like the TRD Griffon. Light weight and effiecient that make it so enjoyable to drive any where. 300hp is enough insane power for this car. Man, that new FA20 boxer engine is awesome . Wining 24 Hr Nurburging racing for 2 years straight now. That test the engine to limit.

I heard that the Contract between Toy-Baru = ends on 2015. Since that point on both will take the car in different approach.

Rumors:

1/ Toyoda plans to shed 200 lbs on the FRS

2/ Suba plans to add turbos on with their own Direct Injections system to boost up around 280 HP.

According to those Rumors, I think 2015 early 2016 we will see some great changes on the platform.

But again, it will bump into other competition such as the

1/ Revival of Nissan Sylvia
2/ The Revival of the S2000
3/ More competitions.
4/ Other more interested platforms such as LF-CC and LF-LC and Revival of Supra.

With all that said. I would be happy with the car around 280 HP with the same weight and balance, and price wise

I wish the FRS had 350 horsepower stock at it's current price. I would've bought one.
