a 2009 Lexus IS250 or 2006 GS300 ?
Hi, I am planning to buy a used Lexus. Which one is a better buy, a 2009 Lexus IS250 or 2006 GS300 ? Since, I would be using this car only for 30 months, which is better from re-sale stand-point ?

Depends on the mileage and options. IS250 is a better buy because it's a later year model which had a refreshed design and some better tech upgrades. I think the GS300 still had a cassette deck.
IS is more popular than the GS. You'll get more bang for your buck...

30 months or 2.5 years is a long time.
I think the GS will have the better resale value because its already taken the most depreciation as it is the older car. The 3IS is coming out which will also dramatically reduce the IS value while the new GS has already been released.

Some of your answer depends on if you need the backseat.....the IS doesn't have a very usable backseat.
As to which is a better buy, the only way to know that is to know the specifics of the 2 cars you are looking at. Miles, price, condition, history, color, etc.

I'd go with the '09 IS. Probably less of a risk mechanically. But, as noted elsewhere, the Munchkin rear seat may be an issue if you regularly carry people in back.
Is it an IS250AWD? If so, of course, you will also have added winter traction. RWD IS models (as with RWD GS models, for that matter) can be a real handful in slick conditions. I know.....I owned an IS300.
