good details. where were you when we were shopping audi / bmw!!!!!!
how do you compare this with the m5 then, if you have driven that too? power / suspension / feel / dynamics?
I've been working for Mckenna for about 8 months now. Mainly deal with all the gear heads that want to modify their Porsche's, BMW's and Audi's. I've helped out all kind of customers though from GTR's to Lambos. Anything you need just let me know and I'll direct you to the right people.
Honestly the only F10 M5 I've actually driven with my foot to the floor was heavily modded and had an aggressive Gintani tune with a long list of mods. It wouldn't be fair to compare both of those together in the power category but everything else such as handling, braking and overall feel of the car seems to go hand in hand.

I like sharing as much as I can since I know not many people have actually had a first hand experience with driving this car.

Ahhh...
There's the rub.
People ask why Dinan instead of the M5. What's the point?
The point is customization. Individualization. And not in a check-the-box way that you would on a Scion or Mini. No. This is much bigger. This is ****-you-money spent at its frivolous best.
Sure, if someone wants to get an M5 for what it is, then so be it. But a tuner, a car enthusiast, will surely "get" what the Dinan is all about. The smallest nuances matter.
Otherwise, just buy a regular 5-Series and slap 20" chromes on it from any local wheel shop. Sticky chrome bits from Pep Boys also an option...

awesome, if we are in the market for another car, for sure will hit you up
yeah it wouldn't be fair comparison. i think a stock f10 m5 vs this s3 would be a good one
Does anyone know if the 550i pumps engine sounds into the cabin via a soundtrack like the M5? Cause if it doesn't I know which I'd get in a heartbeat.. Still can't believe M of all factory shops would stoop so low smh

i am not 100% but if 550 also does soundtrack then it's a horrible one coz' it's pretty quiet.
and yes, m5 with engine sound through speakers that's one of the stupidest things imho
Other than the extra chassis weight from being on a 7-series platform, that extra 400lbs over the outgoing E60 model must be in sound deadening materials / luxury insulation - which could explain partly why the 5-series is so quiet

i thought so too, but that means if they took those stuff out from the f10 m5, the car would have been much lighter and more REAL sound. sigh, sux...
