I almost stopped myself with my comment when considering the BMW 320i. However, most tests indicate it does 0-60 in the mid to high 6's. That's decently quick for a base model car in this class. I have my doubts the Acura will achieve similar numbers. I'm guessing more like IS250 acceleration times. But if they do, I'll happily eat my words.
So expect the 206HP Dual-Clutch TLX to easily do it in the sixes which is very good for a NA 2.4L
Just shows you how far the Japanese push & refine existing technologies.
Example Toyota/Lexus who didn't jump right into the Turbo-GDI bandwagon like the rest. They played smart by letting all the other manufacturers be the beta testers..
Besides i'd happily choose the existing 3.5L 2GR over any 2.0t

The BMW 320i probably has about the same power despite the 180hp rating, way more torque, and also has an 8-speed automatic (or 6MT) and does 0-60 in the mid/high-6 range. Huge torque advantage, and RWD traction. I dunno... It might do it in the sixes, but I wouldn't characterize it as being easy.

I never said they were better, I said in my experience (having owned 7 Lexus and 3 Acuras), that my Acuras were more reliable. I had the transmission on one of my LS's fail at only 85k. I've had various different electronic issues with my GS's (radiator went, sensors failed, speedometer stopped working, power locks would work sometimes, then only a few would work, cd changer broke, check engine lights galore). You said you know of a few friends that owned TLs, ok fine. But did you ever personally own one? I speak from experience and from my experience, the Acuras have been more reliable than my Lexuses were. For what it's worth though, I will say that my LS's were far far superior in terms of reliability in my experience than the GS's I've owned were.

Watch 2015 Acura TLX Unveiling Here at 1:50 PM EST [Plus First TV Spots]
The main question about Acura's 2015 TLX world premiere at the New York Auto Show today at 1:50 PM EST is how close or how far the production car will be to the concept model displayed at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year.
You'll be able to watch the unveiling live in the first video below in a few moments, but here's what we learned just the other day about the available powertrains in North America: the TLX will offer two engines, a 2.4-liter inline four producing 206hp and 182 lb-ft matched to an 8sp dual-clutch automatic, and a 3.5-liter V6 delivering 290hp and 267 lb-ft connected to a 9-speed auto.
Both engines will come as standard with front-wheel drive, while the bigger V6 will offer Acura's next-generation Super-Handling All Wheel Drive system with a new torque-vectoring control logic, said to be 25-percent lighter, as an option.
The TLX has been created to substitute both the TL and TSX sedans that will be phased out this year.
Until the live stream begins, you can check out three latest advertising spots for the TLX in which the prototype model is featured.

2015 Acura TLX Sedan Makes World Premiere in New York, Has Up To 290HP [48 Pics & Videos]
http://www.carscoops.com/2014/04/201...kes-world.html
This is the all-new 2015 ion form that will go on sale later this year replacing both the TL and TSX. It's 3.8-inches shorter than the TL, but because it keeps the same wheelbase length, it should offer similar space inside for passengers.
The styling is very close to the 2014 Detroit Motor Show concept, with only some minor alterations such as the bigger exterior mirrors, smaller wheels, and the absence of the bumper trims and spoilers - you could say that it's more of a bigger ILX than a smaller RLX, and that applies to both the exterior and the (rather uninspired) interior.
Two engines will be on offer in the States, a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder producing 206-horsepower linked to an all-new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (8DCT) with torque converter, and a 3.5-liter V6 with 290-horses mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission. Both engines transfer power to the front wheels as standard, but with the V6, you can opt for Acura's latest-gen Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system.
According to Acura, the 2.4L engine returns an anticipated EPA fuel-economy rating of 24mpg city, 35mpg highway and 28mpg combined, while the V6 model with 2WD delivers 21mpg city, 34mpg highway and 25mpg combined, and with AWD, 21mpg city, 31mpg highway and 25mpg combined.
Acura says it has kept the weight down, and as an example, it mentions that, at 3,600 pounds (1,633 kg), the 3.5L V6 TLX with the Technology Package is 145 pounds (66kg) lighter than the TL Technology Package model.
Plenty of comfort and technology features will be offered either standard or optional, including Acura's signature Jewel Eye LED headlights, LED-accented side mirrors, taillights and license plate illumination, Smart Entry/Push Button Start keyless access system, a 7-inch On Demand Multi-Use Display (ODMD) touch screen and GPS-linked automatic climate control.
Acura said pricing will be released closer to the on sale date later this year.
