Acura ILX, MDX, and RLX are just plain HIDEOUS cars.

I would choose Civic/Accord over them for the price.

The only unique styling elements is the ugly beak grill and front LEDs.

The styling on the TLX looks ok but the specs are very good - SHAWD and 9spd trans.

Know what the difference is? Another member pointed this out to me. The above two were concieved in Japan. The TLX is from Acura USA who believe it or not actually understand their region and market better than Corporate , imagine that. Let's hope Acura USA gets more say from here on out.

Oh and same with the upcoming NSX, an Acura USA middle finger to Japan. You can't deny us any longer Acura!!

I hope when they release this new TLX, they offer this brilliant red color. There's a sea of funeral home gray Acuras driving around, that makes them very forgettable. I love this bright red concept.

On a side note, there's one thing that kind of bothers me with these new LED lights.

I know that with most of todays HID projectors, the headlight housing is plastic but the projector itself is most likely glass, so it can handle the heat produced by HID bulbs. With a lot of house hold LEDs, they use plastic lenses, and I wonder if all these fancy LED headlights have internal plastic lenses, that will fade just like the headlight housing with age?

too many creases going on in the rear fender.

Seems like they added a squiggly line just to keep it from looking generic. I like the accord's simple character line better.

not sure why would you think they would build LEDs to fail basically. LEDs create more heat in cars than HIDs. But even if they didnt, I dont think they would build them to fail, especially since now LEDs are more premium versions of lights that you pay more for.

its a good looking car, proportions are decent considering its fwd accord based. Im hoping the interior is better than what they use in the MDX because that just looks cheesy and non premium.

I think most people expected this - once you tone down the bumpers and side skirts, drop the 19" wheels and replace flashy show paint with something more realistic, you're left with a pretty uninspiring design. Much the same can be said for almost any concept car, but in the case of the TLX, competitors from Cadillac, Lexus, Hyundai and Kia are just a lot more dynamic looking, IMO.

I'm not saying the LEDs will fail, I'm talking about the lenses. LEDs produce very little forward LED, and don't require projector lens to be glass - it can be plastic. But the problem with plastic is that it will yellow over time, like headlight housing does.

Is it just me or is there a resemblance....

All kidding aside, I really want to like it but it's just so uninspiring. I feel like the designers have been on break over at the Acura headquarters and they're just slapping this face on everything that's coming out.
