Keep in mind there may be several levels of F. While the RC F and GS F are slated for a NA 5.0, a new IS F may use a TTV6 and the LS F and SC F may use a TTV8 with rumored 600+hp. Design chiefs have said there is more power to be had out of this latest V8. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Let the car come out first, from their adding power is easy.
Maybe, could be, might be etc... we've had the run around for a decade. hoovey its all talk and no walk. On the other hand amg m and rs are bringing new engines left and right and no one is asking for them! Lexus risks becoming an acura by taking the safe side... Thats all that Acura does, safe i4 safe v6.
Why? Do it right the first time, by the time you do it the few prospective buyers you had waiting will move on to more powerful cars.
If Lexus is using a naturally-aspirated engine, then they need to get that 500 HP minimum already from the get-go (especially since aftermarket tuners find it difficult to add improvements to the Toyota Group ECU since the security protection is high)

My sentiments exactly. Do Lexus seriously want to shed their image of boring and bland? Do they really want to be viewed as exciting and fun to drive according to Toyoda? Do they want to elevate the F brand to be on the level of ///M, AMG or even RS?
F may be positioned differently than M, AMG and RS. We won't fully know until IS F, RC F, GS F, LS F and SC F are released. There is also rumor of a Lexus 'FS' which supposedly takes F up a notch.

Do you think a 467hp RC F is bland?
Don't get me wrong. I do like the new Lexus design language. It's very aggressive. But you must meet style with substance. Do you think Lexus has already shed their past image? Do people view the brand like they do the Germans? I like where Lexus is going. But they're not there yet.

Its not about being bland, lexus has fixed that. Its about creating a competitive product. Almost 500hp is alot, but its not enough in todays world.

No, and I've often asked if that's even attainable. Euro makes tend to get the pedestal treatment while American and Asian nameplates despite their strides continually seek for parity. Blame social stereotyping.

The 30th Anniversary M5 ’30 Jahre’ Edition announced only has 600hp. Maybe we should all be driving Hellcats
As much as I love Lexus, and as much as I hate to say this.....but Lexus should seriously get their s***t together in the engine department. Lack of power, lack of engine choices and aged engines in general are not making the new models very attractive.
