Default 2014 ISF to keep old body for one more year

http://www.autoblog.com/2013/08/05/l...d-from-63-350/

Ever since the redesigned Lexus IS hit the scene, we've been wondering about the 416-horsepower IS F model, and now we finally have some answers. For 2014, the IS F carries over with the previous bodystyle, and Lexus gives its sport sedan some small changes to go with a higher starting price of $63,350 (*not including $910 for destination) when it goes on sale in October. Compared to the 2013 model (shown above), the price has risen by $1,600.

For that extra money, buyers will get a couple styling changes like the new carbon fiber decklid spoiler and LED fog lights, as well as some minor interior updates like headrests embossed with the "F" logo, Alcantara trim added to the door panels and center console cover, semi-aniline leather replacing the black leather and black Alcantara seat-inserts added to cars equipped with the red leather seats.

The price hike for the IS F is considerably higher than the rest of the 2014 IS lineup such as the $885 increase for the new IS250 and the $855 drop for the IS350 while pricing for both IS Convertible models (IS250C and IS350C) went up by $100 each. Speaking of price increases, Lexus has also increased its destination charge slightly from $895 up to $910.

Kind of cool that they are leaving the old body while the new gen starts . Also surprised that they raised the price considering its the old body even if it has a few tweaks. Im happy because Im not sure about the looks of the new one and this would be the only car I would get rather than a GTR. It would be much nicer for daily commuting although it couldnt hold a candle to the GTR performance . Its a better all round package

Good to see Lexus following the way BMW does the model updates!

I think this is a good sign that a 3rd gen IS-F will be made.

Everyone seems to dog the ISF, unless you are a Lexus enthusiast or your own one. Bench racers love to hate but the truth is it is great for a daily driver, city road monster. It is a fantastic car that has been updated and made better almost every year. The one disappointment is that Lexus never saw fit to give it even a small HP boost, especially since with headers, exahust and intake you can easily bump the HP to 450 or more. Great car and I am glad it is still alive and kicking. Hopefully the next gen is just as great to drive and understated, not overdone.

Complete and total fail.

Competitors are leaving Lexus in the rear view mirror for myself. Utterly disappointing.

Clearly it's just a stalling tactic while they gear up for another IS-F and/or RC-F and secondly they're trying to get a feel for how well accepted the 3IS will be
