I got to drive the 1st CTS ever built, and the new 2014 CTS in 2.0T, 3.6 V6 and the VSport Twin Turbo. I couldn't believe how far the new CTS have gotten better. I'm surprised the interior in the 1st gen was considered to be Cadillac-worthy.

Anyhow, some pics. Left to right: 1st gen, 3rd gen, 2nd gen Cadillac CTS.

What do u think the Caddy will be compared against? In that HP range the only thing that comes to mind are the V8 TT's. but even that isn't really a comparo test since now where talking well over 500HP in those V8's.. Do we dare to say Audi They have the V6 TT right?

The Hyundai Genesis is missing. It is about the same size as the new CTS and the V-8 is over 400 hp. The KIA K900 will apparently be a larger car, more the size of the XTS.

Well Lexus is missing from that list because their efforts for establishing a powerful array of competing powertrains into their Exective midsize luxury sport sedan have been lacking as of late. Let's face it a 350 and 450h don't cut it. When the competion has base 2.0L I4 Turbo's, 3L sixes in FI guise for both V6 and V8 replacements, then finally a top dog performance trim. We know the GS-F is coming but its not a volume seller, GS needs a turbo 4 stat.

Let's add Jaguar to the list:

XF 2.0T I4 240hp
XF 3.0 V6 SC 340hp
XF 5.0 V8 SC 470hp
XFR 5.0 V8 SC 510hp
XFR-S 5.0 V8 SC 550hp

Exactly. As far as the XF goes they really offer 5 different engines. The one you were missing is the 470 hp 5.0 Supercharged version which is more inline with the midlevel TT V8 set(and CTS V-sport TT V6) I don't know why they stiff offer the 510 hp Supercharged XFR when its no faster than the 5.0 S/C and they have the 550 hp XFR-S.
