911 Turbo R8 or NSX?

I need something in between the 2015+ NSX, I have been leaning toward an 02+ as a bridge because of the way they hold value, I would get the enjoyment Im looking for and would not loose as much on the resale while I wait.
I see you have a Supercharged NSX, how do you like it? There is a 2004 that Im considering with a Comptech Supercharger on it already. Low miles, seems like a great deal.

In any case, all 3 are great cars. The Porsche is a great daily, and the R8 looks like a $100k car.

I've helped a lot of people buy NSXs, and they have all been very happy. And let me guess, the only flaw to that 2004 is that it has terrible aftermarket rims. Fortunately, I have a set of 05 rims in my garage just sitting around...

Im looking at the V8 R8 instead of the V10, mainly because I intend to only keep the car for a few years and feel the 08-09 R8 has seen the majority of its depreciation hit.
You guys are right on the NSX, the 04 needs new rims, a couple interior fixes but other than that it appears to be a good purchase. Fits my needs, would be solid on resale, may even go up a tad.

the older r8 v8 has seen quite a lot of depreciation, but my feeling is that car dives pretty quickly with mileage

MY personal opinion:
I can't stand the 911 b/c they all look the same. It looks like a frog squatting down to take a dump There I said it Once you don't like that design, all the new measly updates don't help a bit. It's one of those cars that you'll love it or hate it.
I don't care how fast it is, I just can't get over the design from day 1.
R8 is like a stretched TT
Now if it's the new R8
IF I was in your shoe and you don't end up getting an older NSX, I would definitely get the new vette
But aren't all the new vettes accounted for already also?
You and Chrisk have helped me a lot on getting mine also

on the nsx, just try to find one that's as close to stock as possible (especially interior), that's quite key to keep the value i think. which part of CA are you in? there is a 02 blk/red for sale, only 13 ever made for the US, one of the rarer cars, good for value

there was another one in SGV, 60k miles for around 52k. but that ad is gone now, maybe car is sold
to be honest 100k on nsx i wouldn't worry much. key is to see if the major services are done. plenty of nsx running at 200k range and some at 300k. i have seen at least one with 400k miles.
for the 2014 vette, yup nice car, but if you only want the car for few years, that means you take all the hit on depreciation

Science of Speed has the perfect set up for this.. I thought about a cheap, high mileage NSX and send the car to SOS for a engine overhaul, they even build them up for twin turbos etc.

That is so true! Do a quick search on NSXprime, cars.com, autortrader.com and check the craiglist on a few major cities and that would be pretty much be the nationwide availability as of this moment. Theirs usually <50 NSX's available for sale at any given moment.

If u like the C7 styling - for $60k that car is a BARGAIN imo.
R8 - Love the design!
911 - 996 and 997 are ok but nothing special.....991 is on a different level.
NSX - Crazy expensive for not as much performance / WOW factor as the others.
Love this video though!

I would go with a used NSX especially if you are going to be getting the new second generation when it comes out, it will be interesting to compare them and having a fresh experience with the original NSX. 911 Turbo and R8's are nice but they are expensive and don't hold their value very well, especially a previous gen 911. You may have to deal with some expensive reliability issues with the R8, the more I read about them the more I would stay away when it comes to reliability/cost to own, they seem to have a lot of issues. NSX should be very inexpensive to own and should not be too expensive to buy compared to a R8/997 911tt. The NSX won't accelerate like a 911tt and the interior is pretty dated but I think the original NSX is better looking then a R8 or 911.
