I wonder what the city would take.
Ex-NYPD cop Wojciech Braszczok, was fired from the NYPD and lost over $1 million in pension benefits.

Good. He never should have been on the force to begin with.

Wonder where they got the $1M figure from. Unless the $1M figure specifically spelled out in the union contract as a lifetime pension limit, one never knows how long a retired cop would have lived or how much he could (or would) eventually collect.

The defense attorney was the one who made this statement. I'm sure he's making assumptions as to how long the cop would have received benefits just to get more sympathy for his client.

Remember, though, the bikers in the Land Rover incident didn't get through it Scot-Free either. One of them was hit and paralyzed. He (could?) pay for that incident the rest of his life if he doesn't recover.

That's typical for high-profile case like this. Often, it takes even longer. The case for James Holmes, in the Aurora, CO movie-theater case, after a guilty-verdict, is just going to the jury now for sentencing...that mass-shooting happened three years ago.

haha, man.

catch 22 situation. You can't run them over, so you let them destroy your car and let insurance take care of it.

Did you see the guy that jumped onto and broke the windshield? That right there is an assault and the driver could claim at that point he feared for his life. I don't know if I'd be able to keep my cool if I was in this situation.

Its NYC - those kids will get a medal from the mayor.

These bicycle gangs take over the roads on a regular basis - there are zero repercussions for them. They have no insurance and good luck suing them, basically you are SOL. Another wonderful benefit of life in NYC!

Oh, this type of degeneracy seems to be encouraged across the US lately. Will insurance even cover the damages to the car in this case, since the damaged wasn't due to an accident but rather a direct assault?
