Yep, the LS 400 is a formula 1 racing engine.
Six bolts (not merely four) to secure each crankshaft main bearing translates into an engine that can be built to 2000 Horsepower. The transmission is bulletproof; so yeah the thing is so detuned for domestic use that it will last forever....400K, 500K before it needs a rebuild.
I use Mobil 1 synthetic and my 94 is a few hundred miles shy of 250K and burns absolutely NO oil whatsoever. Expect that, expect perfection!

My 98 Gs400 has 225k 
only issues it has is the normal wear and tear on my driver seat
but other then that it runs and drives perfect, smokes a little when it sat for 3 weeks, but thats it

High mileage: 2007 LS460 L with 130,000 and
And a 2005 Avalon with 199,000. Both dealer maintained and in excellent condition. Plan on keeping each for many more miles.

2001 GS430, 245,000 miles....and I just came back from a road trip from St. Louis (back to Maryland). And went the long way home to finally do the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee (what an awesome stretch of road!).
If I had more time, I would have driven all the way across country. Running like a stud!

93 ls400 225k still running like a champ with no problems. Also only using mobil 1 full synthetic and either fram or mobil 1 filter whichever i get a deal on. Question most of you who do their oil changes, when do you often change it out? im doing every 6000 miles. i used to do oil changes on my sr every 5k. But seeing how this is NA and just a v8 i always wondered.....
