who has a hi-mileage Lexus?

I've got a 94 GS3 with 198,500 miles on it with (knock on wood) no major problems yet... except for some annoying throttle position sensors. The car still drives and rides better than the 98 Camaro Z28 (48000 miles) I gave up to get this car. I went to Cerritos Lexus not too long ago and they had an LS400 (92 I think) with 439,000 miles on it. It still runs and looks to be in great shape, but the dealership decided they'd keep it in the showroom to show off the longevity rather than sell it.

My ES 300 has 203,000 miles, driven hard but not anymore. A couple things went but to this day people ask me what year my car is. It's 12 years old, a 1992.
My Pops SC just passed 220,000 miles, no major problems.
When I wrecked the GS 400, it had 117,000 of the hardest driven miles. No major issues.
I'll never forget when my dad bought his company car, a 1992 Grand Am cause he got a great deal on it. Like 1 month after buying it, at 150,000, the motor just died and we had to buy a new motor.

I may have one of the higher mileages in a short-aged vehicle. I'm the 2nd owner of a 2001 ES300, currently at 87,300 miles. Approximately 3 years old, that's about 29,000 miles per year, and within my past year of ownership, I put in a personal 23,400 miles.
The ES is the epitome of the luxury daily driver

I had 121k miles on our '96 ES300 (2nd owner) before we sold it. There were too many issues with it, and I didn't need a car for college. (Kinda wish my dad didnt sell it so soon though; it's a pain with 2 cars for 3 people)
It was a great car though, all the "issues" were minor things that didn't significantly affect the way it drove. It was just leaking, well, a lot of stuff, and the steering was loose. It was a great highway cruiser and pretty efficient around town. The way 2nd gear pulled was quite entertaining too.

Lexus ES300
I bought my 1997 Lexus used around November of 2007. I was told that it was well maintained. It wasn't perfect but it looked great considering it had 211,000 miles on it. I paid $3,750 for it.
I have had some maintenance on it but nothing extremely major as of yet but I am sure that it's coming.
Right now it has 248,000 miles on it. I was told that the timing belt was changed at 100, 000 miles and at 200,000 miles.
So far ..so good...I hope I didn't jinx myself.

This is an old thread but it's great reading the old posts. I have over 353,000 miles on my 1996 ES 300 and she runs like a champ. She doesn't leak any oil or transmission fluid...hopefully I can go another 353,000 miles...

it's nuts how a lot of you drive 16 year old cars.
in the 80's, cars didn't even last 14 before they completely broke down.
Do you guys feel sad when you have to part ways with a super high mileage car? after all, you were married to it for so long.....
I don't know what I'd do. I'd probably keep the dead car in the driveway and still wax it every month
