Just hit 160k on my es300, can't drive it until tomorrow when i get it fied because my front caliper is sticking pretty badly

 

Based on my experience with Toyota/Lexus, I don't consider any car with less that 200K miles to be "high miles".

My '87 truck had 250K on it when I started to tear it apart last summer. The engine (22RE) is down to the block now, and everything I've measured is within spec limits, I could just bolt it back together. I really can't remember any significant problems with the thing, but it's not exactly factory stock anymore. I tossed the factory OEM radiator last fall, almost half the fins were gone, yet I never had any cooling issues.

I worked with a guy that bought a 4Runner brand new in '86, he drove that truck till it had 550,000 miles on it. He had the timing chain replaced once, but otherwise the engine had never been opened. Still had the factory clutch in it when he traded it in.

 

^^^Funny you should bring this thread up. My SC has 221K miles, my '86 4Runner has 277K, and my '85 2wd pickup has 275k. Given proper care and feeding, they'll run forever, and even if they're abused they'll run longer than most anything else out there.

Yes. Rust is the only reason I'm doing the frame off on my truck now, and rust is the reason my buddy traded his 4Runner in. He spent a LOT of money at one point to have a bunch of the body patched and the entire thing repainted. But it started on the frame and it was too much trouble to fix. He traded it for a Subaru, which he ended up hating, now he has a Prius.

My last truck rotted in half (frame), that's not gonna happen again.

 

I got a 98 gs300 with 214k had to replace the engine and tranny so im good to go...

 

my gs430 has over 343K on it

 

I think those car built in the 80s & 90s have better quality then the new one,......my 2000 corolla with 125K is breaking apart slowly......windows not working, radio dead, suspension blow, bearing & lower balljoint, generator, AC, many rusting spot under the hood, and now the transmission...........only the engines is running in great shape.....don't feel like spending $3,000 in repair for the above issue. it just sit there as a back-up and collecting dust & rust.

mostly, anyone i have had in my car then tell them how many miles are on it dont believe me. i just tell them if you take care of your stuff it will last.

 

1997 sc300 280k. only put new breks, struts, valve cover gaskets on her. She is now getting some custom body work and new paint . Pasing her down to my son. I did take a hit of lightning small burnt harness. took a month to trace and repair. now has a knock or rattle on accelaration.
Also (2)1994 gs300 both with 200 plus k on them one blown motor due to broen dip stick. Lexus has treated me and my family great!!

 

92 SC300 with 289,000. Bought 8 yrs ago at 173,000 for $3k. Up to that point only had valves adjusted when new, oil changes, brakes, etc. But had slow main bearing seal oil leak (quart per 3k miles) - didn't fix it. In 8 yrs only cleaned fuel injectors once, ran regular gas, never officially changed oil, used Mobil 1 oil. Current condition: A/C has lost charge, speedometer has lost 1/2 of it's lighting, and 1 muffler has hole. Basically I have neglected the car yet still had little go wrong with it: however, I would drive it coast-to-coast tomorrow. I drove it 140 miles per day on interstate for 8 years.

2000 ES300 with 212,000. Replaced oxy sensors several times, ECU, couple of electronic control components (can't recall which at the moment), brakes/rotors, oil, etc. I just put 30k miles on it in the last year.

 

2000 RX300 just hit 150k

 

167k miles on 2001 es300, just replaced the knock sensor, o2 sensors, calipers and rest was regular serivice
