It'd be better to call it a SAV Sports Activity Vehicle - but then BMW seems to have that term coined

I really think it's the styling that's made this a failure, not the lack of utility. Most people who bought SUV's in the 90's and 2000's didn't even care about the utility. They were the things to have and the latest trend. With the ZDX, Acura had the opportunity to piggyback on that mentality, but made it too butt ugly. Not even today's messed up society is dumb enough to go for it.

Simply because it's "Cool", or trying to keep up with the Jones'es, IMO, are not sensible reasons for buying a new vehicle.

I don't think it's the "ugliness" factor as much as the ridiculous way that the droop-down rear roofline makes it so difficult for adults to get in and out of the rear seat...or for the driver to see out the rear-quarters. Auto companies need to rediscover a principle that seems to be long-lost....putting function over form.

I like to looks actually, we own the 07 MDX so I can expect what it drives like.

Did you happen to find out if they are offering deep discounts on these? Just curious since they are selling poorly.

6-10k off was the norm. Resale is horrid too.

They aren't, but the fact remains, people have been buying "cool," impractical vehicles for decades. Most sports cars, SUV (gas hogs), et al, have shown people often go for the latest trends or styles regardless of their need for them.
