Hankook is doing much much better in the US over the last 10 years. I remember when I ordered my first set of custom wheels back in 2002 and they wheel package included these Hankooks. I had never heard of them so I demanded that the tire brand be changed. Now they are doing much better in the US even though they are huge overseas

 

I've had Hankook V12's. Not a bad performing tire for the price

 

Thats part of the issue. Its always " for the price". They make cheap tires. Great for lowered cars or cheap replacements but I doubt Hankook has a tire that will rank with a Michelin Pilot SS
