Sounds terrible. I wateched it back to back with F1 Videos of V8, V10, V12. This is a disgrace

that sounds like a broken vacuum cleaner or a hair dryer.

Sounds like my electric trimmer when I'm going up and down shaving my pubes...I'm serious. First image that came to my mind when I heard the sound.

I read somewhere that FIA is enforcing a rev limit of 15,000 RPMs for the new turbo V6's, compared to 18,000 RPMs for the current V8's. I was hoping for a super-loud turbo spool whistle, but instead all I could hear was the V6 working overtime. :/

With Formula 1's transition to become more "environmentally aware" (yay, energy recovery! yay, KERS! /sarcasm), F1 fans will have to settle for a rather uninteresting soundtrack for (hopefully) more on-track action.

It definitely sounded like much lower RPM's than current engines. At first I thought they were just not revving it too high. We'll get used to the new sound as all the engines will sound similar. It's just part of being a frustrated F1 fan with all the rules changes.

Really saddening indeed.

Heck, I've heard that in the near future, F1 engines are going to be down-graded into four-cylinder units.

With that said, can somebody please shoot those Greenpeace **************s!!!

blame the FIA. even Bernie (Ecclestone, F1 czar) is on record saying that the new turbo V6 engines "sound horrible."

i wouldn't be surprised if they decided to go with inline-four turbo powerplants at the rate that Formula 1 is adopting these "green" technologies.

it would only be a short time before fans and spectators can no longer differentiate Formula 1 and Formula E.

I might be a minority here but i think it sounds great and easy revving, much like a motogp engine.
