How much power is the 3AE-FTE gonna have?
We all know that Lexus is gonna reveal their 2.0L Turbo powertrain on 20th of November. But the question remains is how much power will it have?
Knowing Lexus today, I'd say it will have no more than 250HP.

It needs MINIMUM of 210 to stay competitive simply in power rating. Ideally 240. Lexus doesn't need a BMW 320i competitor, it needs a 328 competitor.
Audi is going to be upping their 2.0T with the B9, which will be out within a year. It currently makes 208HP, expect that to rise significantly to counter BMW.
We could see a detuned sub-200 HP version in some models... but I don't see why. It doesn't really add any efficiency, which is what Lexus/Toyota really seems to drive home - efficient engines.

The ATS 2.0T is listed at 272 hp and will be receiving an upgrade from its current torque to 295 lb-ft just as the new CTS 2.0T.
Yes this engine from Lexus needs to be power dense and get the same fuel economy as the 328i if not better to be worthy of introduction. Here's hoping they can win the numbers game (~250 hp, 0-60 ~6.0 sec, 33 mpg hwy, etc.)

The updated Audi A4 is currently listed at 220 hp and 258 lb-ft and everyone knows the engine is severely underrated. It hustles the near 4000 lb A4 to 60 in 5.8 sec and that was with the slightly older 211 hp version. The BMW 328i also has an underrated engine with publications recording that it was actually producing 270 hp instead of the 240 hp that BMW lists.

When was the last time they played the number game? 7yrs ago when they introduced the 306HP IS350?

Considering Lexus is going to strive for reliability and MPG I say around 220hp, if that….they could easily have 204hp then explain its an I-4 that makes the power of a V-6
Should it be class leading? I certainly hope so but not betting on it.
Hoovey is also right that different models will make different power and I assume Lexus keeps VVti and Toyota does not.
lol wut? The A4 is barely over 3500 lbs…how is that 4000lbs?

Motortrend tested the A4 along with other sport sedans in the class and it weighed in at 3710 lbs so that's my fault because I was thinking of the heavier A4 hatch/allroad.

Still a 3700 lb car with 211 hp at the time rushing to 60 in 5.8 sec is bewildering.

I think its a little sad that some don't even expect Lexus to come out with a class leading engine.
