Which matters more when it comes to putting down faster lap times? Driver talent or mechanical excellence? That's a question KBB's Micah Muzio and Zach Vlasuk seek to answer with some help from the BMW M4 and Honda Civic Si.
Tiff Needell and Karun Chandhok are seeing which car is best, the BMW M4 or the Lexus RC-F. In the first of three tests, we'll be seeing which car will perform best in a drag race. Be sure to come back next week for the second test!
It means listening to the muffler do its best impersonation of a garbage disposal filled with rocks when we start the car in the morning, even after multiple visits to service.
Real talk. i mean...its damn obscene. i can hear this car in the mornings 2 floors above the garage and on the opposite side of the house. and it aint a pleasant sound. i really cant believe someone let this model leave the factory with such a horrid cold-start sound....
I love the ///M3 and ///M4 with all my heart. Hoping to buy one after I'm through with my IS. Switched to Lexus from a BMW because I needed a reliable, worry-free car for a good 5-10 years, and while it's nice it sure as heck aint no BMW.

meanwhile, the M2 sounds great. smh...
Cold start sound only lasts like 10 sec
I kinda like mine anyway
car and driver, and motor trends long term reviews mention a lot of noises and squeaks. And it shows another example of why carbon brakes on a daily car is terrible.

interestingly enough....ours (and others) that is equipped with the non-CF with sunroof top doesnt suffer from the same squeaks and noises. for the most part, the car has been as tight as a drum.

i wonder if he's talking about the brakes being noisy and squeaky?

Not sure if C&D is, but I know a good bit of owners talk about rattles and squeaks in the cabin. I don't think the CCB-equipped vehicles make up that large of a percentage of vehicles. Maybe they fixed it in MY16. I do notice that there is felt wrapped around the seatbelt lock to keep it from making noise on the center console. That seemed to be a complaint, early on.
I'll have to ask my bro about these brakes. He went back to an M3 after getting a 911. Loving the color combo he chose though. New goodies coming soon.
