There should have like two versions:
1. 3.5L V6 twincharger - over 420 hp
2. 5.0L V8 twin-turbo - over 550 hp
So you got something on the lines competing against the Corvette Stingray, Nissan GTR and Porsche 991 Carrera S X51 out of the box. It be a miracle if the car could be like 3100 pounds and not like 3800 pounds.

that would also match Kevin Hunter's pricing range.
1. $50k
2. $60k

well, I am just pointing out that you guys expect FT-1 to be lighter and more powerful than LFA.
And priced at $60k.
Now think about that for a little bit.
Or by more conservative estimates, it is based on same chassis as RC-F, but will have 100hp more and be priced $20k less. How?
With RC-F being 3950lbs, how can FT-1 be 2900lbs?
FT-1 thread is being destroyed by useless rumors that make no sense at all and are clearly fake.

this thread is being destroyed by you and you alone. you are attacking everyone that doesn't agreed with you.
I never said that so don't put words in my mouth. what toyota officials have hinted at is a good amount of power for $60k. GM does it with the $10k cheaper C7.
there is a differences between platform and chassis

the RC350 is about 3500lbs. in the real world i would expect FT1 to weight in a little less. 3100-3300lbs seems doable. MK4 Supra was 200-300lbs lighter than the SC.

Not quickly. Maybe it already has. The FT-1 thread went to **** soon after the concepts debut. Then all of the redundant articles with various sources all repeating the same information, and then those same sources rehashing old rumors as new not long thereafter. And then there's the posting of entire FT-1 image galleries. But, whatever, it's a good way to get the post count up. Fact is: Toyota is quiet about the FT-1 and whether or not it will in fact be the next Supra or an all new model, and not a soul outside of TMC knows what is going on. There has not been an official press release from Toyota about the FT-1 since its debut (http://toyotanews.pressroom.toyota.com/toyota/releases/). Remember the FT-HS Concept? Same Supra rumors bull****. Not all concepts make it to production, some people don't know or can't even come to grips with that. So, let the pointless and ungainly speculation continue...because waiting for official information is too much to ask, and this thread must not die.
Setting expectations for car that will leapfrog LFA in performance, while at the same be the most affordable sports car in the world, just does not make sense and will lead to people getting disappointed in the end. There is no need to set unrealistic expectations.
Setting expectations at some normal levels would make much more sense.

Both trims with the mandated safety technologies may be around 3500+ lbs. and pocket pricing around 50-75k

I totally, completely agree. My expectations of these car maybe the rival to what Nissan is offer on infiniti Q50. V6 hybrid with 360 hp 300 torque. Or v6 turbos 450 hp....
