So, Toyota has a history of missing their projected price point by 20-25%. Take Calty's projected price target of $50K-$60K and you have a possible actual price of $62,500 on the low side to $75,000 on the high.

I will split the difference and predict $68,750.
Hmm well GT-R originally started around that price, and over the years plus inflation has made it a six digit car.

Once we know the powertrain(s), and what the FT-1 will be pitted against (last Supra was more a muscle car fighter among others), we should have a better idea on pricing

I would think so. The RC may not have the Hybrid variant, just like the IS and IS F. RC is. Spawn off the IS 4 doors. Therefore, i logically think the RC will likely be using V6-350 and V8 for the F version.

While Supra is the Halo of Toyota line, it will use different drive train as in Turbo, and Hybrid. There are people who prefer NA, and there are people who prefer Turbos, some are for Hybrids.

Knowing how Toyota is making their moves. The new Hybrid R would be sure to spawn under Toyota name before Lexus or Scion, and this will probably be on the next Supra, and the rumored hot hatch....

Seeing how Toyota has opened the door to the NX turbo 4. It will also be a possibility of using that on the IS250 F itself. Turbo 4 with F sports and making 275 hp, while the IS350 is NA, it will still be stronger than the IS 250 F trim. The IS 250 V6 may be dropped al-together as the MpG and performance number compare to the 350 makes no senses...whatsoever.

That was talked about on SF. People said inflation didn't really have anything to do with the price increase. But rather that Nissan keeps making upgrades to car since its launch.

It was a concept. Concept is not production ready, so it would never go through all the mass production cost engineering, and reliability testing.

Manufacturer while having a huge influences on technologies, and parts, but they are still being effected by the patented owners pricing.

Hybrid is still new. Though supposedly cheaper to make more power than even turbo engine itself. They are still expensive due to supply/demand....

And as you see, turbo engine is so efficient for high HP, but lag in the low-end torque. Since the Hybrid can net in Low end torque, and make use of some energy being wasted by the traditional ICE alone. This makes Turbo engine and Hybrid together for a Perfect world....that is what all the big boys are playing with...ferrari..mclarren..porsche

The market is not ready yet to welcome Hybrid

RC does have a hybrid - 300h, same as IS300h and GS300h. It also has 4cly turbo, RC200t, which is likely coming to both IS and GS depending on the region (will for sure come to Europe).

That was b.c of the yen... Today it's trading far more favorable than when the FRS debuted. It's why profits are up big, much of it is based on currency changes alone.

Yes, but that was years ago. You would think they would make some progress since 2006.

I recall a target starting price for FT-HS was the mid $35k range. Something like what you listed will most likely push this car way beyond the the current target range.

They better be, the R36 and NSX II will be hybrids. There is a report saying the next Evo will be a hybrid as well. (?)

SupraForums

I don't know, they posted charts of the pricing, inflation, and along with the Yen dropping in value. I'll see if I can find it again.

Editing: I can't find it :/

I think people are taking GT6's specs too seriously. (2,910 pounds with 485 - 518 hp)

On a different note, a lot of people were wondering if FT-1 was a 2 seater or 2+2. If you look closely you can see back seats.
