According to Autoweek it could price out in the USD $50K range. Similarily in Europe about €50K.

Its really awkward to see car enthusiasts think that their specific preferences represent an entire market and that the car makers should revolve their planning around it.
Most people, even enthusiasts, don't know what they really want, and thats why people always say a design is 'growing' on them. Thats also why they need designers to tell them what to like, love, and what design needs time to grow?
Imagine if the peanut gallery had any say on the LFA, boy what a disaster that would've been.
Car looks great, love the new Gazoo branding.

If you were a fan of the last Supra turbo you would have expected more then 335hp BMW inline 6 which is a meager 15hp more powerful then the last one 20 years later and possibly a weak 4 cylinder. This is supposed to be a car that competes with a Corvette or 911, even 8 cylinder muscle cars are putting out over 400hp for under 40K. They could be making the same mistake with this car that they did with the GT 86 by having a good but somewhat pricey package with too little power/performance.

Agreed. They priced the GT86 all wrong and this will be too at $50k. The GY86 should be no higher than $22k starting and top out at $25k. This Supra should start at no more than $30k and top out at $35k. At $50k, the amount of performance options are abundant that offers more.

Yeah, there is no way anybody is going to sell an inline six Bimmer turbo hardtop for $35K, even if they call it a Supra. They might have been able to do that if they called this car a Celica with a Toyota 4 cylinder drivetrain or one of the NA, off the shelf V6s. That B58 is probably going to put out closer to 380 hp in real world terms as BMW understates its numbers. One thing people might want to remember is that Supra wasn't just one generation of the Fast n Furious 90s. It ran in various forms from 1979 through to 1998 in the USA and up to 02 in JDM.
But just for comparison the Porsche 911 Carrera base model starts at $90K and its rated at 370 hp and is 0-60 in 4.4 secs. And most Corvettes are usually spec-ed out to at least $75K and up.

The wait is worse than the NSX and no one is gonna care anymore.

Another possibility is that it uses the 3.0L inline 6 N55 engine from the M2 which puts out about 365hp. I believe the M2 weighs about 3200lbs too and it also has the double clutch "automatic." Seems like this may be most possible scenario in my opinion.

RAV4 is what pays the bills. The Supra is what gets people excited about your brand and draw people into your dealership. Its a rolling marketing campaign. At $50k, realistically how many do they plan on selling? Not many. So even if they take a small loss on each, its worth it.
