Default Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate AMG Line goes official

Comes with various visual enhancements

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the AMG Line package designed for the 2014 C-Class Estate.
Already available on the sedan, the optional AMG Line kit brings a series of visual upgrades such as the big Mercedes-Benz logo on the grille flanked by dual iridium silver matte bars. There's also an AMG front apron with chrome accents and a wire mesh pattern on the air inlets, along with beefier side skirts and a different rear apron with a faux diffuser. Gasoline-powered versions get stainless steel exhaust pipe trim while the ones on the diesel models come with a chrome look.

Other enhancements include five-spoke 18-inch titanium gray alloy wheels, aluminum roof rails, perforated front brake discs and a -15mm lowered sports suspension. Also on the menu are front brake calipers with "Mercedes-Benz" lettering, polished aluminum window surrounds and a sports steering wheel.

What's the big deal? The Alabama plant is fine. They had some serious quality control issues over a decade ago but have long since but assembling the vehicles with the level of care you would expect anywhere else.

I like the cut-outs, gives off an heir of luxury though for sport variants I don't mind exposed dual and quad exhausts

Not having any German shipments coming to the US also means no european delivery program.

I wonder how many C-class owners actually participate in that program. Perhaps the AMG crowd does in a significant number...

I don't know why or how I keep seeing manufacturer test vehicles around where I live, but saw another C-Class just trundling about with manu tags last night.

Car looks good!

Default More spy photos of the W205 C63AMG

More photos and specifications are leaking out:

2016 Mercedes-Benz W205 C63 AMG: Latest Spy Shots and Information

Highlights:

- AMG quad exhausts;
- P255/40R18 rear tire;
- Adjustable suspension;
- 320 kmh (200 mph) speedometer;
- 4.0L twin-turbo V8;
- standard version: 476 hp; high output version: 510 hp;
- 7-speed MCT transmission

There are more images in the original news. Glad to know the engine will put out 476 hp and may be able to break 200mph if the speed limiter is removed. But one concern to me is the rear tire size with 255 width: I am not sure whether it is sufficient to handle such high output. Hope this is just for the prototype testing car, and the final production version will have wider tire.

^ the interior looks improved over the current C63 which is somewhat of a let down. The NA V8 though makes up for it with smiles for miles

Default Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG sedan spied inside and out in China

Reveal set for September 24

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Sedan has been spied up close in China ahead of a full reveal allegedly scheduled for September 24.

The white prototype was spotted wearing a minimal amount of camouflage and the photographers were able to snap a few shots of the interior cabin which had leather-wrapped sport seats and a different speedometer going all the way up to 320 km/h (199 mph). On the outside it had the usual AMG ingredients such as the beefier bumpers, larger alloys, a quad exhaust setup and a lowered sports suspension.

Power will be provided by a newly developed twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine sourced from the AMG GT. In the latter it will churn 510 PS (375 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) but most likely AMG's engineers will offer a slightly detuned version in the C63 AMG with approximately 480 PS (353 kW) and slightly more in the rumored S-Model that will also come with revised styling and larger brakes.

A public debut which will also include the estate version will occur at the beginning of October during the Paris Motor Show when Mercedes-Benz will also open up the order books. Deliveries should kick off before the end of the year or early 2015.

Default Mysterious Mercedes-Benz C-Class mule spied, what is it?

Could be a 2016 E-Class early test mule

A mysterious Mercedes-Benz C-Class mule wearing camouflage was spied up close near the Nürburgring in Germany, indicating a new member will likely join the range in the future.

The all-new C-Class just came out so it is way too early in the game for a facelift which can only mean Mercedes-Benz is cooking up a new derivative. Although at a first sight it might look like a regular C-Class, upon a closer inspection you will notice the hood is longer and it also comes with wider wheel arches.

It could be a "four-door coupe" which will be positioned between the CLA and CLS since there is a big gap to fill. Mercedes-Benz's R&D chief Thomas Weber already announced the C-Class lineup will be expanded beyond the familiar body styles and even admitted there is room between the CLA and CLS, adding that Mercedes is "intensively looking at remaining niches that will provide us with profitability and growth." Another possible identity of this camouflaged car is a C-Class hatchback to compete with the BMW 4-Series Gran Turismo

However, we have a feeling this could turn out to be an early next-gen E-Class mule set to come out sometime in 2016 as a sedan and wagon, followed a year later by the coupe and cabrio.
