Default Vorsteiner previews Lamborghini Huracan tuning project

A full body kit is in the works

Tuners from Vorsteiner have released first details about their upcoming Nero program for the Lamborghini Huracan.

The company explains it “we’ll be designing, testing and fabricating many wheel and aero components specifically for the Huracan platform”. So far, the specialists have only equipped the vehicle with 20- and 21-inch wheel combination, “specifically tailored to maximize both inner and outer clearances”.

The program will also include a new aerodynamic body kit “to further improve the nearly perfected design”, as seen in the first rendering of the Huracan Nero. The package features a new front lip spoiler, modified side skirts, a new rear diffuser and a fixed rear wing.

Further details are expected in the coming weeks.

Default Lamborghini Palm Beach dresses up Huracan with Polizia livery [video]

Purely a publicity stunt

Lamborghini Palm Beach has wrapped around the Huracan LP610-4 with a police livery for publicity purposes.

Back in May we saw Lamborghini handing over the keys of a brand new Huracan to the Italian State Police and now Lamborghini Palm Beach is imitating that look on another Huracan which has received a blue and white wrap donated by film manufacturer 3M. Aside from the new clothing, the Gallardo replacement seen here also got a light bar as seen on the Huracan LP 610-4 Polizia.

The modifications end here as this was done only for commercial purposes so you won't find specialty equipment such as a police radio, gun holster and the Proof Video Data System that boasts a camera and a computer which on the real police Huracan records suspicious activity.

Power comes from the same naturally aspirated V10 5.2-liter engine outputting 610 HP (448 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) sent to an all-wheel drive system through a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox. The Lamborghini Huracan needs 3.2 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint and 9.9 seconds for the 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) journey before topping out at more than 202 mph (325 km/h).

Default DMC Gives Lamborghini Huracan a Complete Tune Up [w/Videos]

German firm DMC is patting itself on the back for being the first tuner to launch a complete aftermarket package for the new Lamborghini Huracan with both styling and performance enhancements.

What's visible to your eyes is an aero kit comprising two front spoiler lips, side skirt extensions, a rear diffuser and an adjustable rear wing, all made from carbon fiber, with DMC stating that all parts can be mounted "without visibly damaging the Huracan" allowing owners to easily return the car back to stock.

The look on the outside is completed with a new set of forged alloy wheels size 20-inch in 245/30 tires up front and 21-inch on 325/25 rubber at the back.

A reprogrammed ECU and a new exhaust system nudge the 5.2-liter V10's output from 610PS (602hp) to 630PS (621hp).

As for the interior, DMC offers a number of options ranging from a redesigned steering wheel and re-trimmed buttons to a complete redo of the cabin. According to the tuner, "Small and Medium Projects can be done remotely, but the car needs to be shipped to Germany if a whole interior make-over is requested".

Default Palm Beach Dealer Wraps Lamborghini Huracan in Italian Cop Livery

Perhaps you’ve already read the story about Lamborghini donating over a spanking-new 602hp Huracan to the Italian State Police, with company CEO Stephan Winkelman handing over the keys himself.

A nice publicity stunt that will surely make headlines the world over; it’s not like one Lambo will make a difference. Nor does it come even remotely close to the Dubai police fleet – not by a mile.

Lamborghini Palm Beach decided to wrap one of its Huracans in the same colors as the Italian police cruiser, Polizia badges and all, even going as far as installing the same rooftop lights that won’t affect the car’s aerodynamics.

We know it’s illegal to paint your car like a police cruiser – even if it’s a Maserati GranTurismo. In fact, you will end up being arrested. What happens though if you make it look like a European cop car? Will the local authorities have a greater sense of humor than their Massachusetts counterparts? Is there a law forbidding such a thing?

Guess we will find out if the dealer or whoever is driving the fake Polizia Lambo at the time gets into trouble…

Default This is Lamborghini's New Huracán GT3 Racer

Lamborghini pulled the wraps off its new rear-wheel drive Huracan GT3 racer ahead of its competition debut later this year.

Not to be confused with the Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo that will race in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo in Europe, Asia and North America from this year, the Huracan GT3 will participate in the more demanding Blancpain Endurance Series over five venues in Europe, including the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hours race.

"With the Huracán GT3, Lamborghini Squadra Corse takes a further step forward in the development and production of a race car for this category, which is among the most prestigious and challenging in international motorsport," said Lamborghini boss, Stephan Winkelmann.

"Lamborghini is thus for the first time directly involved in GT motorsport activities with the in-house development of this new model,'' he added. ''We are proud and delighted to announce the new partnership with PERTAMINA, which will further support our motorsport activities.''

Designed and built in association with Dallara Engineering, the rear-wheel drive model adopts the Huracan's 5.2-liter V10 direct injection engine with a Bosch Motorsport control unit that also manages traction control, gearbox and the TFT display on the dashboard. Lamborghini didn't announce output figures. The 10-cylinder powerplant is paired to a sequential six-speed gearbox, according to FIA regulations, and a three-disc racing clutch.

Other race-spec features of the Huracan GT3 include a FIA-compliant roll-cage, a series of aerodynamic enhancements such as an adjustable wing, adjustable front diffuser and louvres, a carbon frame 8862-specification seat, OMP fire extinguishing system and a new multifunction steering wheel.

Elsewhere, the braking system comprises 380 x 34 mm steel discs at the front (6 pot), and 355 x 32mm steel discs at the back (4 pot), which is equipped with Bosch ABS and offers 12 different settings that can be applied directly from the steering wheel. The car rides on 315/680 tires at the front and 325/705 at the back, and comes with a pneumatic lifting system.

If you're interested, the Huracán GT3 is priced at €369,000 or about $430,000 (excluding taxes) ex works in Europe.

Default Deadmau5 orders Nyanborghini Purracan to replace departed Purrari

EDM DJ and producer Deadmau5 is unusual among car collectors for a few reasons, like the fact that the Canadian native didn't get his driver's license until he was 32 - about two years ago and well into fame - so his first car was a Porsche 911 Carrera RS. Elsewise, his garage contains a BAC Mono, a McLaren P1 and 650S, a Range Rover, a "custom Jeep Rubicon with an SRT engine and big suspension," and a daily driver Bentley Continental GT Supersports. There is also that controversial and now-unwrapped Ferrari 458, the Nyancat Purrari with custom badging that so incensed Ferrari they sent him a cease-and-desist letter.

After the kerfuffle, Nissan teased Deadmau5 with the idea of a Nyancat GT-R, but the musician has tweeted the the replacement is going to be a Lamborghini Huracan called, naturally, the Nyanborghini Purracan. Deadmau5 tweeted the delivery date is in May

Every so often I'll go to autotrader.com to look through early 2000's Gallardos since they are actually within reach. who knows, maybe in another 5 years I will come across a good deal (i.e. $50-60K) and check a huge box off the bucket list. These are such cool cars! Crazier things have happened.
