Word on the street is BMW wants an X7

Who brought up the LX? Anyways, the LX doesn't sell many units. Audi is doing quite well...

If the current trends continue Audi will overtake Acura in the US before long.

So doesn't A7.
EDIT: Try to pull up the sale number, I don't think A7 is doing much better than LX considering LX is a niche product.

They may in the future, but the fact is, they don't.

And to think about how ridiculous BMW is to make M version of their SUVs, I can see X7 getting M treatment if they ever make X7. It's wheere Lexus will follow the trend.

It's not supposed to be a volume car. The A6 is the volume car and it's doing very well.

Apples and oranges but sales last year 8483 A7 and 4625 LX.

Both LX and A7 are not volume cars. While Lexus doesn't have A7 competitor, they can easily make one with their resources and existing technology. A7 competitor isn't what Lexus needs, that's why they don't want to throw all their money into a pit hole. What Lexus need is a "more" entry level high volume SUV/Crossover to compete with high volume Xover like X1, and GLK.
Audi, in other hand, will have to do a lot of studies and research on off-road segment to catch up with Lexus and Mercedes.

Your posts don't make any sense lol. It's not an issue that Lexus doesn't have a competitor to the A7 or that Audi doesn't have a competitor to the LX. Both are niche cars.

Nobody here is saying Lexus needs an A7 competitor, we're just saying they don't have one.

Sorry, Maybe I haven't had enough sleep for the past days? What I mean is, A7 competitor is doable for Lexus. Lexus can easily re-engineer GS to make a A7 competitor. It's just that the kind car is on lower priority comparing to a model like NX.

We can't really do that because there are about 8 other threads right now that deserve the same title, so we'd get them all confused.

I am not sure where this thread is going, probably nowhere, but when it comes to Audi and how great it is doing, let me point out that Lexus grew much faster than Audi in 2013 in the USA.... Lexus sales grew by 30k while Audi sales grew by 20k.... Lexus almost outsold Audi by 2x.

With new RC and NX to rival A5 and Q5 better, there is little chance of Audi catching up anytime soon... What they will do is introduce 2 new cheap models - Q3 and A3 sedan to try and compete.

To me some of the BEST reviews are when a very biased person truly seems a car for being incredible…nothing brought that point home more than Clarkson, who traditionally hates Lexus, named the LFA the best car he has driven. Really drives home how good that car is.
excellent post.
