4 door coupe would be cool.

I rather they use the resources to expand the current GS lineup rather a new model.

GS should have ideally: (fantasy i know lol)
GS200t - 250hp
GS350 - 350hp
GS300t (Fsport) - 400-450hp
GS hybrid - 300hp
GS F - 550+ hp

Ah, I remember taking a Lexus survey gauging interest in this type of body style. It was quite a while back around the launch of the new GS. I guess this is that vehicle!

Why because BMW and MBZ do it that way? It doesn't have to be that way. Lexus is not limited like BMW is in current nomenclature

The survey I took showed a vehicle silhouette much like the Porsche Panamera. I guess Lexus sees an opportunity here.

I really wasn't expecting something like this. Many times they've made it seem as if only two coupes were going to be developed (RC & LF-LC) and not one more. These must have been taken last month, meaning give or take 3+/- months since then, might be unveiled within 9-12 months from now.

I have to wonder when they will present the GS-F, if already running field tests on a new variant of the L10 chassis. Glad to see more mule/prototype spottings in Japan, compared to the past where you never heard a peep outside of endless magazine renders.

^This is a 4 door coupe (like the Germans), not a 2 door coupe like the RC and LC.

I was aware of that incredible shocker in seeing the rear door cutline(mind initially thought SWB 5LS), but my edited comment accidentally omitted that. I had the impression that Lexus was investing in a 3-tier coupe line-up, with one positioned between IS and GS (now RC), an SC replacement between GS and LS, and range-topping flagship/halo LC. Ideas of more than 2 coupes(production LF-CC and LF-LC) debunked countless times during the last 18 months and implied here that Lexus had no intentions to offer more than 2 coupes(2, 3,4 or 5-door). At this rate, is it possible to see an emulation of the previous MB coupe set-up? CLK->CLS->CL/RC->GC->LC?

This could be the mid-level Lexus coupe in 4-door format that's positioned between the GS and LS like the CLS between the E and S-Class, instead of a 2-door variant. And also an LC coupe being similar to the current Jaguar XK (next XK is highly revolutionary with more upmarket pretensions from what I've seen at Whitley) rather than the CL/S-Coupe. Easily Lexus could have an additional 2-door coupe named "SC" and end up with RC->SC->FC->LC.

Also looking at this vehicle and knowing somewhat of Lexus development standards, this looks like it would've reached a "frozen" stage of design in mid-2013. A new model at Lexus require 18-24/30 months from that freeze date, which points to a 2015 launch.

If just a mule however, could mean a September-November 2013 freeze date, while an actual full prototype is waiting in the wings to commence testing in a few months. I vote the former, in it likely being a full body design prototype judging by the short boot-lid.

BTW, thanks for the RC-F photographs in the other thread. I had found some elsewhere that were dated November 21st, so Lexus has kept those RC-F photos under wraps for awhile.

Not sure how GS could survive with a 4 door coupe in the lineup. Between ES and a hypothetical CLS-fighter, I think GS would either die or have to become that model itself.
