Yup...gotta think about that when someone thinks about the price difference upfront...

High depreciation often means poor value on a lease....and high monthly payments.

Hyundai subsidizes the leases on the Equus and Genesis. You can lease an Equus Ultimate for less than $600 a month.

That is crazy to think you can get a big flagship for the price of a CT 200h!
ha, never looked at that but here's a '13 with 8500 mi. for $42.6k!

To be fair the 2014 Equus is a refresh, so the 2013 isn't the same vehicle as new on the lot. But that depreciation is still pretty terrible.

Monthly lease-payments, of course, also depend on how much you actually put down....as it does with a purchase.

Hyundai was actually slow to get a lease program started (I don't know why). Several dealerships, in response to my question, when I was reviewing Hyundais here on CL, said that they initially had resistance from Hyundai's financial arm trying to get the programs started.

I'm talking zero down. I'm very experienced with leasing, I never put anything down.

Yes, when I first looked at the Genesis in 2010 their lease was terrible. When I looked again in 2013 their leases were great...

Your policy might not be a bad idea. If you use your car in business (according to how the IRS defines buisness-use) you can deduct the monthly payments. I'm not sure, though, about the down payment.

Yup. Downpayment is not deductible.
