it is definitely not well regarded, but it is also not worse than other diesels... Unfortunately, it is probably more reliable than average, according to all the studies.

Diesels are getting more expensive every year with new eco laws in Europe and Hybrids are getting cheaper.

Diesels dont make sense for Lexus as they are only sellable in Europe, and even there in a lot of cases new hybrids make more sense, as this test has proven.

I don't agree that diesels won't sell in the U.S. When manufacturers actually OFFER them here (such as VW, BMW, and Mercedes), they actually do fairly well. But you can't sell what you don't produce.
