To each their own of course but I think the F Sport package is a " must have " on a 3IS

Huge difference in looks and yeah those 17" wheels are horrible !?!?

Yeah the 3IS in F-sport looks nice in any colour.

But the regular model looks nicer in the darker shades.

Could have swore I posted. Glad to see owners of the 3IS talk about how they love the looks. It's one of the biggest reasons for purchase.

Updates coming to my yellow one

Didn't know that yellow was offered on the 3Gen IS. Lexus doesn't show it on their web site, even for the IS-F or F-Sport package. Bright Solar Yellow WAS offered, though, on the 1Gen IS300 and Sportcross wagon for 2001/2002. I owned one myself for almost 5 years.

Dude the car was painted LFA yellow...

I'm happy to have an amazing relationship with Lexus and they are grateful for Lexus owners supporting the brand as they have evolved. Their official position is they are happy with people not liking their designs as it means they made a statement and have people talking.

The spindle grill has been a huge hit for them and they are confident about their new focus on style.

Personally, I think the Spindle is getting better. The IS F, HS and CT were the precurssors to it. The GS debuted it ala half arsed. ES was a major miss IMO, RX, LX and LS were more refined, and now the IS, GX and refreshed CT have really done wonders with it. The NX leak also looks good as does the RC F

I only have 3 complaints - the F-Sport package nixes the ventilated seats, the lack of wood trim on the center stack through to the arm rest, and the awkward position of the cupholders. That said, the gauge in the F-Sport is awesome, the seats (regardless of package) are really comfortable, and I don't know where else a cup holder could go with the car's design. I guess I'll just have to get a GS

i got nothing but good things to say about my '09 IS350, rock solid build, powerful refined motor with excellent gas mileage, and trouble free piece of mind of owning a Lexus. but i'm kind of disappointed Lexus did not increase rear seat room for the new IS. i have a 2 year old to drive around occasionally, a few more cubic inches in rear would make a huge difference. unfortunately a year from now i'll be looking at the Acura TLX and a modest optioned 335i as the replacement for my IS350.

I guess they went conservative with the GS and bold with the others…surely the GS will gain it..I'm still shocked the LS has it!

Yeah we have gone in detail with option packaging.

Really? I find rear seat room is obviously larger and the IS is the first Lexus with drop down seats for increased trunk room. The TLX is more ES being Accord based, not really an IS competitor. The 335 clearly defines the segment.

It was their first attempt at implementing it so it's understandable. I expect the '15 refresh to have a full Spindle.

I mentioned in another thread the LS while not as classy as say 2007-2009, the Spindle is elegant on this vehicle.

Did you forget about the February 2010 LX facelift? That still stands out as an oddity to me, as that would've been drafted as late as early-mid 2009. The L10 GS exterior was completed by the end of 2009 (save for full production detailing). Considering that the L10 went into production in late 2011, which debuted the spindle grille first? Bear in mind, these are images of GS test prototypes from 2010. Not a even a clay or fiberglass model.
