I'm confused to see the Altima as the best selling car. Is Nissan giving them away? IMO, it's probably the least attractive car in the fiercely competitive class. It's not bad looking, but it's got a lot of wacky wavy lines. It doesn't do any one thing best in class.
It's quite sad to see a car like the Mazda 6, which most auto journalists have voted as the winner in most comparison tests against its piers, sell ONE unit per the Altima's EIGHT sold. The Mazda 6 is better in almost every way. People just don't consider "Mazda"?
And the fact that the Altima easily beat even the Accord which is clearly superior, means people are basing their ultimate decisions on who offers the best incentives.

My sister in law has a '13 and she loves it.I drove it a few times and it's not bad at all.The CVT does make an odd noise from a stop but not heard with radio on.
Her Altima listed for $27K and is well equipped.Great discounting too.
My overall opinion is it's a nice car for the money.
