You can get a super clean low mileage 2005/2006 Infiniti G or 2005/2006 Acura TL for that kind of money. And I'm talking low mileage for the year, well maintained, etc. I've owned an '05 TL with Navigation and it was one of the best cars I've ever owned. The interior is still very modern to today's standards (came standard with hands free bluetooth, heated seats, etc) and the exterior styling is arguably one of the nicest designed sedans of all time. You've got a very decent budget there, If I were you I would test drive an '06 IS250, '06 G35, & '05 TL back to back to back and see which one you like the best. I would not be surprised at all if you end up not choosing the IS. If you want to stick with Lexus, I would also look into an '03-'05 GS300/430 if you like that body style. Can't go wrong with any of those choices IMO.

Now that you mentioned it the Infiniti looks pretty nice. & it doesn't look too old. I thought they were more expensive for some reason. Thanks

Yeah, no **** on the base model Lexus holding its value like none other. When I was in the market(late 2012), I really wanted a manual shift IS300. Budget was 10k, no more. Anything under that price was a ragged out POS with at least 100k miles on it. Clean ones were running 12-15k, which was absurd for a 10 year old car IMO.

After all that is said, I did pay $9,000 for a 1992 SC300/manual shift lol. Sucker only had 60k miles and one owner, looked like a 1 year old car on the Lexus certified preowned lot.
