I was talking about the mirror, following up on spwolf's comment on the mirror.

HA! I love it! When the current model debuted, one of my biggest complaints related to the sagging greenhouse at the spot you are talking about. I commented cheap econo cars often have that look. This is because it's a quick and easy way to increase window space and visibility when there's no room to go rearward. The other fault with this style is it can look like the car just completed a crash test and bent at the pillar, causing the body to collapse downward from failing support. It all equates to cheapness. You would never see such a kink or drastic sag on high-end cars (only on econo cars).

So this body correction makes my day! Really happy Toyota made all these improvements. The car is a great evolution of the sleek and cleaner 2007 model.

lol:

"only people who are going to spot the differences are diehard Toyota fans, all 4 of them"

How stupid is that? Cant believe "Auto Engineer" from Consumer Reports would say something stupid like that.

yup, well CR is typically for 'practical buyers' especially those who hate cars but have to buy one anyway, so they look for the safest, most reliable, most nondescript vehicle, which has generally meant the camry. this new one though, oh my, it might be too bold for CR.

comments on youtube under that video though are entertaining.

sure, but I dont think anyone would confuse 2012 and 2015 Camry, not to mention video has that crazy bumper XSE model.

I would say that is completely ignorant of the general car-buying public. That is also insulting to Toyota and insulting to Toyota fans. By saying that, he is stooping as low as those Internet trolls who like nothing better than to insult Toyota at every turn.

My cousin, who is as far from a car-enthusiast as you can get (but one I would consider to be very representative of the general car-buying public), would look at the Gen6 and Gen6.5 Camrys (pre- and post-facelift) and believe they are 2 different cars.

He has, in fact, looked at 2 Camrys -- of different colours, mind you -- and believe they are 2 different models of cars. For a few years, we both had Gen5 Camrys, mine a beige 2002 model and his a silver 2003 model; both 2002 and 2003 Camrys are the same but because of the different colours, he did not believe that they were both Camrys.

Seems like just a weak failed attempt at humor and not much more.

And I know LOTS of people that are raving Toyota fans, both enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts. My Aunt and Uncle purchase Toyota products exclusively...they would never even consider another brand of vehicle...they aren't car enthusiasts, but Toyotas are what they buy and have been for the last 25 years.

A lot of people just buy Camrys over and over again and never consider anything that isn't a Camry.
