OK, What Is the Deal with these Camouflaged Mules?
I always see these spy photos or videos of new models with all kinds of prints and stripes or whatever all over the car's body. Well I can still see what the car looks like, and probably so can anyone else who cares. So what is the point of this? Even if a competitor saw it, production time is at least a year if not more for them and the car they are spying on will be in the showroom while they are still doing the mechanics.
So what's up with that?

I think it is a tease and it is hard to see the true body lines with all the camouflage distractions.

^^^ Agree with all the above. In addition, the general outline of a sedan, or coupe, or SUV, will be so close to what exists presently in the market today that adding extra fake body cladding becomes a moot point. So the idea is cover up the details only with the psychedelic wrap - those details being the front and rear bumpers and lights, and the lines, curves, and sculpting on the body panels, so as to keep some suspense prior to the official reveal.
