Even more funny if it's in front of a Dollar Store, cause that would make sense

Yes, as you can see all the car upgrades came from there..... The clearance section...

Guys......that kind of stuff may look gaudy or overdone today, (and I agree it's not my cup of tea). But keep in mind that custom wheel-pants, flame-decals, chrome hang-on accessories, chopped roofs, moon-disc wheel covers, etc.....were all the rage among rodders and customizers from the late 1940s well into the early-mid 60s. After that, of course, a number of the 60s/70s-vintage muscle-cars came from the factory with their own graphics/racing-stripes, spoilers, etc.....even Road-Runner cartoons.

I really wish you had waited and took a picture with the owner. I'm curious as to who the person behind all that time and effort is cuz that's CRAZY!

While you do have a point, keep in mind that those custom cars are aesthetically pleasing and tastefully done. This well.. the words 'aesthetically' and 'challenged' come to mind

The thing that all of us have in common with this person is that we love our cars. Although it might not be the most pleasing to your eyes, to the owner it looks like he has taken great pride in his car and it shows. The car looks super clean and he probably has maintained it well judging by the look on the outside. When is the last time you saw a late 90's Taurus that wasn't a SHO that was this clean? Most I see have no clearcoat left, or much of it faded off, blown shocks, bald tires and boogers/dog slobber all over the windows.

So knock him all you want, but he has more in common with CL peeps than the average Taurus owner

I gotta admit, though, I've never seen a customized SHO before...at least not to that extent. But, on the other hand, I don't go to the SEMA shows....there might have been some there.

I think it is a GL, not a SHO.

Beauty is indeed often the eye of the beholder. At a Pontiac/GMC dealer once, I watched a fairly young couple walk in, fall in love with a new Aztek, test-drive it, sign the papers, and take it home that afternoon.

Maybe so. Hard to tell, with some of the original trim altered.

Was is Mr. and Mrs. White? Did they have a young son named Walt Jr?

I know I brought up the subject of the Aztek, but just the same, let's not get too far off-topic (a customized Taurus).
