STI was the first thing that popped in my head..looks are subjective..some I see are nice..others not so nice....def had to be modded tastefully in my book.....I like clean rather than racer!!

You can build decent power out of the 4th gen F-bodies..... Even before FI.

I loved that generation, at least in V8 form after the 98 revision. I ended up with a 98 TA (not WS6), & it was a great car to drive. The LS1 was a great engine. Sadly, I had some weird electrical issues such as a headlight that burned out monthly, & windshield wipers that redefined the term "intermittent" on low setting, & swung so hard they broke off wiper blades on high. I do miss driving it though. It was much more exciting than our new Mustang.

I had two Camaro Z28's with the LS1. A 1998 ragtop/6 speed manual. Before that I had a 99 T-top, automatic.

Honestly I preferred the automatic car. It was just as quick as the stick, and a lot easier to drive. Both in the sense that the aftermarket clutch was like doing a leg press, and it was easy as pie to get the automatic to hook up from a dead stop. Launching that 330rwhp manual car on all season tires was very tricky, its very easy to end up with a wicked smoke show instead of forward progress lol.

Also, I will say that the convertible had an awesome top. It was padded cloth, insulated, real glass window with defog, and it sealed really tight against the windows/windshield. Even though the car was 12 years old with 95k miles on, the top looked mint. If only the rest of the car was as well made/engineered as the top lol

If you can live without the turbo, a 2007ish Charger SRT8 is an excellent choice. It also has the benefit of extreme room. It gets 20 in the highway and sounds better than probably 99% of cars on the market.
