Congrats Josh My main warning would be to be careful with that paint. It looks nice but dang it chips easy. Otherwise my wife loves her and it's a solid car

nice trade.

let us know what kind of MPG you get (before and after the trade).

100 miles per day can equal lotsa gas!

yeah my miata had paint so thin that it would chip if you looked at it.

i'm guessing mazda does it for weight savings, but it sure makes for a hard car to keep unblemished!

Glad to hear you're out of the service and safe.
Yes, very fixable, its only the hood and roof, i plan to get it done PDR in the near future.

The biggest reason for the switch-my pay dropped from 60k /yr to roughly 35k when i lift the service. So, in order to maintain quality of lifestyle, i chose to let it go. It was a VERY emotional trade. However, i will NOT miss the amount of work it takes to keep acres of metallic black paint clean.

Thanks for that warning, i appreciate it. I opted for a clear-bra install being done this wednesday and they are going to apply it to the headlamps, around the door handles and the rear bumper as well.

Little bit of weight savings, little bit of cost savings if I had to guess While it lasts, it is some nice paint though.

Right move. No thing is worth having if it causes you strain financially. Its just a thing. Thats a lesson a lot of Americans need to learn...

But, but... what about the Joneses they just got a new BMW! I need one too, gotta keep up with the joneses.

If only that mentality died, America would be in a much better position.

If the Jones just got a new BMW, with their new electric steering systems, they must have lost some of their automotive tastes.

I don't remember, Josh....were you in long enough to retire and get a pension (usually 20 years minimum unless you are injured), or did you just go out on an Honorable Discharge, and that's it?

Yeah, I usually don't recommend black myself for that very reason.....unless one can keep it out of the sun (especially that strong Texas sun) and keep it clean enough to be presentable, which is a lot of work.

Congratulations, Josh. I agree it is a better choice than a Ram for everyday long-range commuting. The SkyActiv engines in today's Mazdas have a reputation for good MPG.
Actually the service manager at Eldorado Mazda bought it today. He was signing the paperwork while I was removing my HID's and Load Controlling air suspension and reinstally stock parts.

HID's are in the mazda. They look amazing. The air suspension will be installed on my next truck, it doesn't take up much space, so I will throw it in a box and stick it in the garage.

The Mazda is looking good! Definitely impressed by their newer designs, they look unique (in a very good way).
I was man...I was nearly in tears.

I have a pension because I am combat wounded. I am medically retired, however I cannot draw it until the claims process is complete through the VA. that takes 12-18 months. The projected date of completion is Aug 2015, at which point I will recieve backpay from 15 Jan 2014 (my date of retirement.
