Based on the video the guy is 6'1 and has no space sitting in the back while upfront it is pretty tight as well.
Style over functionality or just poor design. The other issue is the track pad which is universally criticized.
Reviewers love to comment about rear head room by sitting as upright and into the seat as possible, when in reality people dont sit like that, especially with a rear seat that reclines like in the LS. People tend to slouch when sitting so I wouldn't worry about it.

Raise the MSRP by $1k and most consumers won't notice.

Then again, I also caveat I'm the guy that buys a VSA on my vehicles purely because it provides me a peace of mind that when I pull up to a service bay, I have zero financial care on what the service advisor suggests to be done to my vehicle.

Have you guys not seen this?
Not sure what kind of 3 year old car would need spark plugs replaced. At most, this is $100 worth of parts per vehicle...

Yeah, good points about headroom. The new car is 57.1 inches high compared to the 4LS at 58.3 inches, but it is a full inch wider at 74.8 inches. It looked like he was pretty cramped in the rear seat inspite of the extended wheelbase. I think it may have more to do with the video angle and seat positions. Until we all experience it ourselves, it's hard to know for sure.

Agree. I haven't found many comments about it yet, but did find these comments from Car and Driver:
To ensure that the rakish roofline does not impede rear-seat headroom too much, the rear headliner is scooped out, and the sunroof slides up and out rather than retracting into the roof.

Agreed, headroom issues are usually exaggerated. I had always heard the back of the 4-series GC was tight, but I rode in one recently and had plenty of room (I'm 5'11"). In the back of my IS I can barely touch the ceiling if I sit as tall as humanly possible, which is uncomfortable.

Vehicle this size won't have any problem with headroom, the rear seat position probably wasn't adjusted when the reviewer sat in it. Now the headroom in my M is a problem, I banged my head 2 times when I tried to get in the rear, needless to say now the back is filled up with two car seats lmao.

The touchpad would be another point deduction for this car though. I tried Lexus touchpad many times and I just flat out hate it, I don't know if I can ever get used to it and I like play with infotainment a lot when I drive.

Now its perfection. Probably now out handles and out accelerates anything on the road, and don't get me started on the highness of the prestige, its off the charts.

Not quite the perfection of past BMW steering systems, though.

I have not sat in the LS for the new model. So I can't answer that. Can you?

Good point. Prestige does matter. The current LS is more along the lines of the E-class than it is S-class. Its a sort of in-between-er. This new one should command $90K at a minimum. But I believe it will need a V8 or even better a V12 to really command $115K +++ I do believe the next gen engines for the S-Class will be inline 6 engines, so this new 3.5 lines up nicely. I highly doubt a V8 will not be offered.

Yes, prestige definitely does matter.
IMO, Lexus definitely below Benz on prestige.
However, IMO LS much closer to S Class than E Class.

Btw, I wouldn't be at all surprised if ALL full size luxury sedans make a move to the 3.5L TT formula.
5LS is just starting the new trend...

Are you referring to the icon on the right of the steering wheel? That is Lane Keep Assist.

I was under the impression that Audi A8 was now 6 cylinder for the USA only.
