Another negative on LS interior is lack of headroom.
Based on the video the guy is 6'1 and has no space sitting in the back while upfront it is pretty tight as well.
Style over functionality or just poor design. The other issue is the track pad which is universally criticized.

+1 on this. I am not a fan of leasing (just personal financial stance) but the notion of having "everything" covered from brake pads to scheduled maintenance would help bolster the ownership experience. Now, if I actually do the math, it doesn't cost the owner nor the brand too much $$ (assuming 7500 oil change intervals at $80-$100/instance) that is $700-$100 over 4 years of cost for a peace of mind. Raise the MSRP by $1k and most consumers won't notice.
Then again, I also caveat I'm the guy that buys a VSA on my vehicles purely because it provides me a peace of mind that when I pull up to a service bay, I have zero financial care on what the service advisor suggests to be done to my vehicle.

Have you guys not seen this?
Not sure what kind of 3 year old car would need spark plugs replaced. At most, this is $100 worth of parts per vehicle...

I wouldn't be concerned about headroom...

Agree. I haven't found many comments about it yet, but did find these comments from Car and Driver:

To ensure that the rakish roofline does not impede rear-seat headroom too much, the rear headliner is scooped out, and the sunroof slides up and out rather than retracting into the roof.

Agreed, headroom issues are usually exaggerated. I had always heard the back of the 4-series GC was tight, but I rode in one recently and had plenty of room (I'm 5'11"). In the back of my IS I can barely touch the ceiling if I sit as tall as humanly possible, which is uncomfortable.

Vehicle this size won't have any problem with headroom, the rear seat position probably wasn't adjusted when the reviewer sat in it. Now the headroom in my M is a problem, I banged my head 2 times when I tried to get in the rear, needless to say now the back is filled up with two car seats lmao.

. There's a reason Lexus has been so shy about offering $100k+ cars with regularity until now; or ever why the LS460 came in at discount compared to the S-class even though at one point it was just as good. Prestige still matters. Hell, that's why the
"Porsche tax" still exists on cars like the Macan.

Yes, prestige definitely does matter.
IMO, Lexus definitely below Benz on prestige.
However, IMO LS much closer to S Class than E Class.
Btw, I wouldn't be at all surprised if ALL full size luxury sedans make a move to the 3.5L TT formula.
5LS is just starting the new trend...
