Next Lexus LS (2018 model)

I don't think there will not be a higher model to replace the LS600hL eventually(at least I hope), but I don't think it will be a LCF though, that will compete with the likes of S63/S65/S8, etc.

I agree, it's certainly not boring. I personally can't believe they chose to debut this car with that fussy wheel design though. I hope they have some more wheel designs available at launch.

Good Golly, this has been a popular thread, with a lot of posts, considering that the LS is not one of the larger sellers in the Lexus line-up......certainly not in RX or ES numbers.

yeah, turn it into a nascar ride. looks AWFUL.
good point about Tesla! they're the upstart that all luxury makers should be really concerned by and who has no doubt stolen a lot of sales from the others.
it's an interesting design - the horizontal slats and recessed screen eliminating the previous and all too common "center stack" setup. i think the slats are bit 'busy' and i do not like the gauge cluster and its horns, but i love the new shifter, seats, doors, etc.
i'm sure the engine will be awesome. wouldn't be surprised if they offer a v8 (maybe turbo'd for 'F') and a hybrid option. but i wouldn't be surprised if those are years and years away.
i think your hope (in bold) has ZERO chance of reality. i expect this car to start at $85K+.
1. Exterior - more Japanese and Korean, less German clone. I like it, a lot of the Infiniti M37 in it, which I owned previously. Also a little Altima and Tesla, looks a lot more sporty/younger. Need to see a full production version to confirm (wheel style/size and ride height)
2. Interior - I like it a lot, personal style. Need to test a production version to see quality of materials, smell (if you've owned an S class an LS, you will know what I mean) and GUI functionality.
3. Engine - no problem with the TTV6, I have a gut feeling there will be optional engines. Need a test drive to gauge power, speed, quietness). Longer term would need to know fuel economy (but not that important) and reliability
4. Price - this is the all important piece to me. If it is priced too high, there are better choices and prestige matters. If the price is lowered to have a TTV6 SWB priced between the current GS and current LS, it would be compelling. However, starting at $90,000, you have to then consider if the 3 items above (exterior, interior, engine) fit the price.

Pics on previous page show the LS on display which is dropped and 20in wheels with perfect offset.
The production car will have a much different stance unfortunately.
A lot will depend on pricing, i think if it starts in high 60s to low 70s similar to current SWB LS then it should do well against cars like CT6, Continental, Jag XJ, Genesis G90. As it will no doubt be much better in every way than those cars.
I think its not fair to put it in same class as Sclass, 7, A8 as I think Lexus changed their target market a little with this LS.
A lot of great cars in this segment and niche players like Panamera, Model S, Quatroporte.

If this thing has a base price of $90k, I have no doubts it will be a hard sell. However, if it had the V8, it would be easier at that price imo.
I doubt this thing will base at 60k. The current LS starts at $73ish.
Most flagship coupes have a slightly higher base versus its sedan sibling, generally speaking. I bet they base this in the mid $80s, which again will be a hard sell imo.

In the 60s? LOL the current LS doesn't start in the 60s. Remember this is a LWB only car too.
Base price around $80k I'm okay with.
