I received a questionnaire from the Lexus Advisory Board asking if I would want my Lexus to provide coupons or offers from businesses when I am driving in their area. They are naming this, ahem, service Local Offers. From their choices of answers I told them it would be "extremely unappealing".

I'm not bombarded enough with targeted ads, now I need to get them while I'm driving!

Would anyone here opt in for that service?

This is all about what a "connected" car might do. I know billboard companies are also trying to develop personalized content depending on what cars are passing by.

I want ads of things that are not cheap or discounted. I want outrageous frivolous ads, like $200 dinners or $5000 golf clubs.

I'm driving a Lexus, not a Kia.
