Picked up a new commuter/beater a few weeks ago...
My Wife left on July 3rd. I havent seen her or my new car (Mazda CX-5) since. She wont tell me where she is for some reason I have yet to ascertain, only that she is somewhere in SC, with someone. She has no family there, so I am filing for divorce on monday. Uncontested in Texas is easy, just gotta file the paperwork and wait 61 days, pay the lawyer to file the paperwork on grounds of abandonment, and that will be that.
Meanwhile, the Escort is gone, I picked up this for $1500 after trade:
^First mod, Kuhmo Ecsta AST all around. Dealer put them on. They were about 2k miles old by the time I took this pic (I have been averaging 1k miles a week commuting and leisure stuff).
^second mod, TINT. Llumar ATR Series.
^And then there is that. LOL.
^Clairion 10" 900 max watt sub
^Poweracoustiks Gothic 1100 watt Max amp. Bridged at 1 ohm, pumping about 750 RMS to the sub. Thumpity thump thump thump.
^Pioneer HU 60x4 MOSFET w/bluetooth handsfree connectivity and usb/ipod integration.
Spyder Halo Projector Headlamps with CCFL Halo's and LED DRL.
^5% tint rear glass, 20% front glass, 80% windshield and 5% brow.
This focus is Loaded. Its got leather, 6 disc changer, power seats/windows/locks/tilt/telescope, one owner and clean carfax. Miles were a little up there but I can work on it so I don't much care about that, especially with the service records i have saying the timing belt and waterpump were just changed, the trans has been serviced every 30k, it had new struts, ball joints and tie rods.
165k miles on it, not a crack in the leather or a spot of heavy wear anywhere on the car. Trans shifts flawlessly, you cant even feel it. Compared to the escort, this is a Cadillac. I needed a wagon or SUV to haul my 100+lb Lab around, as well as tools for work, and whatever I may need for the house (plywood, 2x4's whatever).

Sorry to hear about the marriage breakup.
The car looks excellent for something with that mileage....the dealership must have done some detailing for the sale.
If they steam-cleaned the engine (or used a regular degreaser on it), that may tend to temporarily hide fluid leaks. Keep an eye out for any leaks for awhile....

I called the Ford Dealer in Mount Pleasant TX where it was regularly serviced, and they printed off and mailed to me the service history. It is over 200 pages long. Oil changes with synth every 5k, trans service every 30k, ac compressor siezed and was replaced 15k ago, new front suspension bushings and ball joints, new tie rods, new shocks/struts all around, new brakes all around, new tires all around, I mean this thing is nice. A regular cream puff. I can't say enough good about the way I was treated at Eldorado Mazda-Chevrolet in McKinney TX either. I bought 2 cars in 2 months from them. They currently have both of my trades sitting on their lot.

Hope things work out for you with your personal situation. As for the Focus, impressive for the mileage. Barely any wear is visible and the maintenance record clearly shows how well kept it was. Good buy!

About the old lady, keep your head up bro. I don't know you, but if you're a decent dude, you'll end up with a better one in the long run

Sorry about what you are going through marriage wise, sounds like it was not worth the aggravation if it has ended up like that. Nice pickup on the Focus, hope you are happy with it. Did you get rid of your pickup truck?

Yes the SE and ZTW, the latter being a higher trim were both wagon trims of the Focus. The ZTW was introduced in MY2002

I'm a good guy, and she's a decent woman, we just didn't get along anymore.
Life goes on.
The system is not loud. It's simply an addition to enhance all around sound quality. I spend a lot of time in my car so the stereo has to be decent. I hate bass that rattles and hits like crap., I'm after crisp, clear quality sound. The amp and sub simply adds that extra dimension of sound.
