Infiniti Teases Big Paris Motor Show Reveal
Infiniti Teases Big Paris Motor Show Reveal
Japanese automaker Infiniti has big plans for the the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
Staying quite candid, Infiniti release the photo you see about along with a cryptic message. “Soon, Infiniti will share a vision – its soul – on a scale not seen before from the company,” reads the release.
This is likely a new flagship sedan from the brand, which will compete with the Porsche Panamera. The car will be more about sport than ultra luxury, with some rumors suggesting it could make as much as 700-hp thanks to a new hybrid powertrain that is also destined for the next-generation GT-R.

“À bientôt,” ends the message, which translates from French to English as “see you soon,” a clear indication that Paris is the planned venue for the reveal.
As always, AutoGuide will be live at the Paris Motor Show, which takes place the first week of October.

The comment about "scale" is pretty vague. Scale of size? Scale of performance? Scale of soul?
I am sort of inclined to go with the first option, which makes me think this could be the Q30 or QX30, since Infiniti has technically had a flagship before, but never something smaller than the G/Q50. Could also be a GT-R-type car, since they've never had that before.
I love the idea of a four door coupe to compete with the Panamera, but I'm just not sure if their current brand image will support such a product. Seems like it might make more sense to start at the bottom end - Q/QX30 - and build up.

Agreed, I just don't think they can put together a worthy LS/7-Series/S-Class competitor.

I would hope they would produce a vehicle along the lines of the 1990-1996 Q45.
